The Odean Smith saga shows that Jamaica must go it alone
May not be a bad idea.
In reply to FanAttick
So if Odean doesnt get picked for Jamaica
.or the captain doesnt bowl him
..at least you can say he was victimized by one of his own
Like Marlon on Nikita Miller. Or was that Vice versa?

The problem I have with this story is that nobody wants to know what the truth really is.One set of people who do not like Pouty have found him guilty of every malfeasance imaginable while others think this entire story is completely made up and Pouty is as pure as the whitest of snows and there is no need to investigate or indeed talk about this matter.
In reply to Dukes
The true issue is that WI is a substandard team, if WI were gate-pullers all this would be irrelevant and looked upon as just a problem of selecting the best team for the day.
In reply to uton
Dat simple
Even if it is a poor team it says a lot that men cannot resolve at the local level what is in fact a simple issue. Even if it got the grievance stage WIPA not being able to solve it at Phil/Pollard level and all report to the board who then document what was resolved is troubling. We can't be such poor managers/administrators.
In reply to FanAttick
You needed Odeon to show you that? You a lawyer or a fool?
In reply to Dukes
Malfeasance was Burnhams second name but you didnt care then or now
why?
In reply to Dukes
But why even dignify this rumor? If you are going to dignify this, the stay consistent and dignify all rumors out there.
It is sad indeed when nasty people with agendas start rumors which they must know can only hurt WI cricket and the poor player whose name they use and abuse.

Your characterization of the matter is prejudicial.
There are some VERY SPECIFIC ALLEGATIONS WHICH ARE VERY TROUBLING. and NEED TO BE ADDRESSED as soon as this series is over.
CWI first agreed to an emergency meeting yesterday and then realized it would be better dealt with after the series which is fair enough.
Let us wait until this meeting takes place before forming an opinion.

Well no, no meeting was planned- that was the rumor.

Yep di Reggae Boyz is di perfect model but where yuh gwin find di foreign players?
In reply to FanAttick
I agree. So should Barbados. Then Barbados can try to bring Archer, Jordan, Bethel and Che Simmons back home
Failing that all WI territories will all be on a faster track to irrelevance
In reply to FanAttick
I attempted to make light of this situation at first but I will now consign myself to a corner as I do not like the
road this thing is taking on many fronts and is not valuable for discussion at this time.
As for the go alone, that train left the station in 1962 and even passenger trains have ceased operation in the 3rd railway system in the western hemisphere,...
you could let Chrissy know that JA can always recruit players from Zimb/Kemya and failing that the Cayman Islands can always provide.
In reply to Emir
Obviously you are getting your information from Fox News!!!!!!!!

To be honest, it does seem a little strange that Smith wasn't one of the bowlers used in the second match that we lost, when he only conceded 4 runs off his bowling in the 1st t20 we won. I think as fans we are curious to know why this happened. Including Powell who made the difference in the last match ended up being a stroke of genius. Someone had to come out of the team to make way for another batsman. Shepherd and Odean Smith are similar players so a choice was made. It is certainly not the end of his career since he is in the squad for our next white ball challenge.
The point about Jamaica 'going it alone' is a non-starter. Smith was replaced by another Jamaican in Powell. When last did the Tallawahs win the CPL might I ask? Jamaica beat Ireland in one match. That was largely due to 85 from Powell. Had he failed it may have been a different story. I remember when Trinidad wanted to form their own team because of their performances in t20s. I am glad that it never came to be. Should Barbados have formed their own team when they dominated regional cricket and made up the majority of the team with our best opening partnership of Haynes and Greenidge? Until we realise that the West Indies became the best in the cricketing world because of the variety of talent across the Caribbean, we will continue to struggle as a team.

"Strange" but can you go as far as attaching a sinister motive to it?
In reply to Chrissy
I laughing now but for the next three days I will be digging out of 8 inches of snow in sometimes -5 degrees windchill weather.
No cricket for me.
In reply to Courtesy
No I can't, I am not privy to what goes on behind closed doors in West Indies cricket. What matters to me the most is winning this series and lifting a trophy at the end of it. Hopefully, the men can get the job done later on.
In reply to Windiesfan78
I am sure you will also be interested in a thorough investigation into this matter (if it has not been done already) and let justice prevail.
In reply to Courtesy
It would be interesting to see what becomes of this. Once again, I am more interested in winning the series.
In reply to Windiesfan78
Hmmmmmmm!!!
In reply to Courtesy
Hmmmmmmmmm what? This is a distraction. There is always some drama with the West Indies.
Dear Jamaica

If one of the Oldest British colony can move to a republic, so too will be the dismantling of the WICB/CWI as we know it.
Barbados women will be at the commonwealth games.

The CWI President has issued a statement which reads verbatim;
My questions to the CWI President .
2. If so, was the investigation conducted by an independent party?
3. If so, was Mr. Odean Smith interviewed during the course of the investigation?
4. If so, did Mr Odean Smith deny the veracity of those allegations?
5. If an investigation was not conducted, on what basis did you, in your capacity as CWI president, arrive at the conclusion that the allegations constituted a malicious attack on the credibility of the West Indies Captain?
In reply to FanAttick
Our Esteemed President is a Politician like sudden.
Do any politician or lawyer tell the truth?
Oh you fall into the latter ...sorry

Phil, ran faster than Usain Bolt from answering the questions, a few days ago.
A wonder why?

Maybe he is an unindicted coconspirator or at the very least an accessory before or after the fact?
