It wasn't just this game. The Niners got this far not because of Jimmy G but in spite of him. Dude comes up short in critical moments. Missed a wide open Sanders in the SB two years ago that would have sealed the game.
Two weeks ago he did his best to throw the game against the Cowboys.In this game he had Aiyuk open that would have extended the drive but Ramsey almost intercepted the ball. He is no scrub but he isn't the guy to win you a championship. The only reason I can see the Niners bringing him back is if they feel that Trey isn't quite ready just yet and wants to give him one more year to learn.
