I was thinking about how Putin claimed (falsely) that Ukrainians are indistinguishable from Russians, and they are one and the same- genetically and ethnically. He is wrong as they belong to different ethnic groups.
He has made this argument in order to unify by force both countries thus making Russia stronger and bigger in the process.
But what about us West Indians- we are indeed one people- we came from the same boat and from the same place, yet we have so many WI nations and all of us are struggling with the effects of globalization and the industrial capitalist system that punishes small and the weak.
Why haven't we unified under one country- The Unites Islands of the WI (UIWI) with a constitution similar to that of the USA.
We have so much to gain and so little to lose. Why not?
