ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC) — All-rounder Raymon Reifer said Thursday he hoped his hundred against England would further strengthen his credibility as a top-tier batsman.

The 30-year-old struck a wonderful 106 for CWI's President's XI on the penultimate day of their four-day tour match at Coolidge Cricket Ground, a knock which propelled the host side to 264 all out in response to England's 466 for six declared.

Reifer counted 15 fours and two sixes in an innings spanning 182 deliveries and 4¼ hours.

“I am feeling really proud about that hundred. I've worked from the beginning of the season very hard, and the rewards are starting to show now,” said the left-hander.

In reply to CaribbeanCricket.com A hundred is a hundred and Reifer got an opportunity to play against a test team and he capitalized on that. But top-tier batsman? Give me a break. Reifer in my opinion just embarrassed Desmond Haynes and the selectors. Is he a better batsman than fellow Bajan Kyle Myers? I sure think so but sadly Myers is already on the team as Probably our number 4 regular now. Since our regular domestic season has been put on hold until May, it’s very sad that our best batsmen Darren Bravo, Chase and Hope didn’t get a chance against England, in the practice game which means they are out of the series against England and should one get injured another number 8 batsman for Barbados, like Reifer would have to bat at number 3,4 or 5 for West Indies. Is this what we call top -tier Batman? I wonder if Jerome Taylor was a top-tier batsman because he scored a brilliant test century against New Zealand

Well let me take back my first comment because Hope and Chase might very well be included for the remainder of the series even if they didn’t play in the President’s X1 game and our domestic season is on break till May, just to make sure Darren Bravo doesn’t get a chance to impress. Chase and Hope are both from Barbados and we know Desmond Haynes will find a way to bring them in. Sorry Mosely failed miserably so we will not see a Barbados team playing for West Indies

Let me help the Most Honorable Desmond Haynes pick the West Indies X1 for the 2nd test in Barbados .

Hope you guys realize everyone on the team is from Barbados. So Campbell, Booner, Blackwood, De Silver, Joseph, Permaul and Sealles better come good in the first test. See the embarrassment? On a real Barbados X1 Myers if picked will bat at #8 and Reifer @ number 9 but for West Indies Myers bats at number 4 and Reifer wants to be seen as a top-batsman that could also bat at #5. But don’t blame Reifer because Desmond Haynes seems to agree with him that he is a top-tier batsman because he was picked in the president’s X1 team as a top-tier batsman and he answered by scoring a brilliant century

You said best batsmen? Hope averages 25.01 after 39 tests and Chases averages 26.78 after 43 tests. et your fact straight before you make silly claims.

sylobaby picked Moswely? sylobaby must be a bajan. Moseley cant make 20 in a game to save his life. ...Hope averages 25 after 39 tests...chase 26 after 43. You people are just calling names..you have no idea what you are talkign about. Reifer has done well with the bat for the last 3-4 seasosn and has doen well at #3 for barbados. He is the only batsman who can actually get singles, twos and threes.
