in playing shots that Bishop talking about a leg glance being and oh boy shot. The damn legside is so foreign to this bunch. Finny how WI batsmen of the past used to attack the legside. I guess like fast bowlers looking pretty bowling line and length (instead of intimidating) the batsmen only want to look pretty cover driving.

you remember the olde cross-haul, Viv did not invent that stroke. I was told Sir E played it many years ago, the leg side was our favorite area of play, maybe since we never had pads on until playing organize cricket, we executed the stroke very well.

Exactly! We forgot the WI way following this technical way the British are thought. There was a reason we play CALYPSO CRICKET!You find the holes in the field. These fast bowlers are medium to sweet and should be treated as such!

Yet we loudly celebrate and proclaim consistently and meekly padding half volley, full tosses and long hops back to the bowler or straight to a fielder……saying “it’s test match cricket”.

Like they never saw our long time batsmen in action.

On the odd occasion, when the situation warrants it, you might do that. And even then….a bad ball is a bad ball is a bad ball. You punish bad balls.

These guys bat same way regardless of the match situation. On featherbeds to boot.

Today may not have been one of those days, granted, but when do this lot bat any other way?

This group have maxed out. Think the corrected work need to start with the U23 group. Can't teach these set in their way group much. Glad to see Da Silva make the adjustments to take advantage of them bowling on his pads. Scoring off your legs is the easiest thing. Gotta keep your pads clean. Learned that as a youth.

Notice though it was the youngster who made the adjustment.
