What ever happened Adrian Barath
In reply to birdseye
He became the victim of a cult
In reply to birdseye
He is a Jehovah witness, they dont believe in competing
In reply to silver
same thing I said.
In reply to silver
the team he was on was not competing!

This is unfortunate but it happens. I remember just over 30 years ago we identified a brilliant fresh medical graduate from the University of Guyana and we arranged to send her to Jamaica for more training. She excelled in Jamaica but shortly after she returned to Guyana she gave up Medicine to save souls for the Lord.

People choose different paths in their journey, a lot of guys drop out from university back in the days to chant rasta! Some drop out from the rat race in the corporate world to join the public sector, I must hasten to add!

Check the back room about 3 Immigrant women from Guyana.

You are probably well aware of what happened to Bharrat and the treatment he got from the selectors. After the tour of England Bharrat was dropped,he didn't do that bad as an opener relatively speaking. He was quickly dropped to make way Kieron Powell for the tour of Bangladesh, where as you well know, whould be the place where batsmen could beat the bowling.Powell did good and didn't look back until he proved to all that he was a useless test batsman.
You may well know why Bharrat was talked about in very high esteem,he made his debut at 16 beating up some regional bowling, also scoring a 100 on debut against Oz,then Oz had some of the quickest bowlers around.AB form took a slump in the regionals and the selectors never thought that he will ever make it again,so they dropped him.The fact he stuck 2 fingers at those men who run cricket in the WI tells you what kind of man AB is,he doesn't want bullshit from skunts.
You were just trying to be funny, you are having a laugh at someone who was badly treated by your loving selectors, all the same unlike you AB aint kissing nobody's arse, you can do that.

No doubts, he was an extraordinary talent.... century against Aussie ... brilliant display for T& T in Champion League...same, where Pollard for the first time, showed his hand at the world stage......thereafter, Barath left cricket to be, what gives him peace in life..... different people find happiness in different manner....some cricketers left international cricket to play franchise cricket...these individuals find solace in money.... likewise individuals like Barath,Taibu , which made them satisfied with life....
In reply to VIX
Thats one way to look at it.
Another view: He eschewed the glory and chose to do something that brought him peace and personal satisfaction.

Sounds like you're actually Barath himself, but wasn't he like most West Indian upstarts...figured out? He wasn't making any runs in the end, was he?
He would fit fight in to todays team with that 20-sting average ...
In reply to granite Your manufactured opinion of my motives does not fit the essence of which I am, just hope thats an outlier on your acumens. I was a Barath disciple
In reply to birdseye
That guy has issues. He sees everybody as being anti-Trini and seems to have paranoid delusions about all non-trinis.

Loved the lad...met him right here in Bim after he had put good cut ass on our bowlers if I recall.
C'est la vie-
Cricket as it turns out was not as powerful an attraction orrrrrrr the craziness back in those days overwhelmed him.

I just read your post...
seems that if you are indeed correct on that FACTs then I may have sussed them out accurately myself.
Some people choose their poison of pressure and many others choose to walk away from it to pursue other priorities.
No harm, no foul....but we are the poorer for it...regardless of WHY he chose to walk away.

it is a very lucky man who finds something in life that brings him joy. I wish him luck
Boris was a great talent like Dwayne Smith.

So who is your friend June Griffith or Dennis Collison ? Anyhow their son's bread is probably buttered on both sides hence his decision-making would differ from those that do not have his amount of financial resources.

Dennis Collison .

The kiss of death by the Trinis... Lara had selected him as the future.. He also selected Nixon, Omarion and Castro. At least one did us proud.
