Hybrid cricket pitches in American cricket

It would cost anywhere between $15,000-$18,000 to develop a turf wicket in USA, while developing a 'square' (3 center wickets) might cost to the tune of $40,000

This professional service comes at a premium in America and a standard pitch curator may ask for remuneration upwards of $90,000 per annum. The cost of a curator along with other utilities is deemed as a preposition not financially viable..

These hybrid pitches cost close to $16,000 to have them installed in the USA which is close to same as a natural turf wicket. However, these hybrid pitches trump the natural ones over cost and ease of maintenance. These wickets are far more durable and quicker to regenerate which negates the need of having a 'square' or multiple pitches on a cricket ground. A fresh hybrid wicket can be produced within 2 days of watering and rolling, whereas it takes close to 6 weeks to regenerate natural grass. These hybrid wickets also take away the liability of hiring a pitch curator as the regeneration of natural grass is taken out of the equation as watering and rolling aspects are typically general labor that can be easily carried out.
