That kid Pathirana is throwing

Won’t make a difference in the IPL, but if he ever plays internationally cricket, I’m sure he will be called.

If Malinga wasn't, he isn't.

His release point is much lower than Malinga tho, it like he’s literally skimming rocks on top of a river, real blatant throwing

the rules don't say anything about release points......the only factor is the degree of flex in the elbow

I don't think he is throwing, his action brings back memory of a more muscular Anthony Mayers.
Seeing Mayers and Wes bowling at 5 pm frightened more local batsman, back in the day.
Cammie Smith enjoyed seeing batsman eyes, refusing to give them light.

It's mind boggling how some of these buffoons here can't distinguish a perfectly legal bowling action from an illegal one.

I haven't checked the rules but I believe I heard a commentator saying the point of delivery must not be lower than the shoulder of the bowler.

In my books the delivery is legal.
My concern is whether the young man can remain fit for long with this action....to me it doesn't look natural.

that's not true .. the rules do identify a release method...
the release point is a TV thing, it has many factors including action, bowlers heights, arm angle and length as well as ground mechanics such as collapsing etc. The rules simply ask that the bowling arm or release point is above the shoulder.....

Definition of fair delivery - the arm

A ball is fairly delivered in respect of the arm if, once the bowler's arm has reached the level of the shoulder in the delivery swing, the elbow joint is not straightened partially or completely from that point until the ball has left the hand. This definition shall not debar a bowler from flexing or rotating the wrist in the delivery swing.

Of course the less than 15 degree straightening allowance has to be taken into account which is why umpires doh call bowlers dese days but report them for a suspect action.
