A case of the sport in England being seen as for the posh crowd and ticket prices being way high?

You scared me there for a moment! Thought you were referring to the England v South Africa match in August which I have tickets for the first day, because the other days were SOLD OUT since January!

Bank Holiday Weekend coming up in the UK.

Is it possible that even though NZ are current WTC champions, they aren't as big a draw as other Test nations? Still, 18K is a lot, bank holiday and Liz notwithstanding.
the English fans prob know what to expect with that NZ attack in conditions that look like home for them !!

Bank holiday would be the ideal opportunity to sell out. Public holiday.
However, Tryangle is partly right. Prices are too high.
But there are other factors too.
Support for England is at an all time low. They were supposed to be doing a red ball reset in the Caribbean, but the naughty West Indies refused to cooperate. The 1-0 loss was so embarrassing, Root had to resign.
There's been very little publicity in the main news channels about this match. On BBC Breakfast this morning, there's no mention of this Test. A lot of Poms don't know this is about to start.

The cost of living will have had something to do with it as well. People are really struggling at the moment.
The poor performances would explain why 9,000+ tickets are still available for the 4th day.
Agree with bdaTryangle about the opposition bot being a big draw as well.
The Caribbean Cricket Podcast crew said yesterday that it cost them less to travel to the Netherlands to watch the 50-overs contest than a ticket for Day 1 of the Lord's Test.

Apparently you guys living in England. What would be the cheapest way to travel from London to Paris in August??? Thanks in advance.

I've no idea, prices just keep going up, airports at the minute are in disarray.

If you book tickets in advance, you can get some really cheap train and airline tickets.
Try thetrainline.com for Eurostar deals.
August unfortunately is usually the most expensive month.

Run rate 1.97 for the first 25 overs.
This may be a part of the story.
Or maybe people realize this England isn't strong enough to last more than three days in a test anymore
