GROS ISLET, St Lucia – Chief selector the Most Honourable Desmond Haynes has recommended to Cricket West Indies (CWI) that top former players be recruited to help the regional side prepare for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup.

The legendary opener who took over as CWI chief selector in January said West Indies must put the expertise and experience of recently retired stars, including Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Darren Bravo, and Darren Sammy to use.

“I believe that we should not go back into the situation like what is happening in today’s cricket, whereas West Indies sometimes struggle to include the past greats.

I was just about to post something similar.

'Dessy' is taking this Head Selecta thing to a new level. I'm not surprised.

To me it makes good sense to have them in the camp to share their knowledge ...but one shoe does not fit all ...
You have to match / pair ex players with current player ..so figure it out..
The pairing may work

Eg... who will you pair Narine with??
Gayle .. maybe Lewis and HETY
Carlos ... Pooran ... close you eyes and swing boy .. you bound to connect
Pollard.. Odean Shep
Bravo.. Paul McCoy
Sammy ... Pooran for clapping and clapping
Samuels.... whole team .. determination

I do not think that the ex cricketers like VIV Ambi etc who never plied the T 20 trade be involved.
I know some gave stints as coaches with some teams but ??
