He has always seemed like the ideal man to coach the WI batsmen how to pick up 6 runs per over and avoid dot balls.
I have never heard his name called as a possible candidate for any WI engagement opportunity or award. Is there something that is not reported or is he a straightforward man who will not say yes when the answer is no?

I thought of Larry Gomes but never understood why he was never in a coaching capacity for even the Trinidad team.I feel had he been maybe,chances are, he may have been used as you say, a batting coach.

He is guilty of saying to Tittie journalist Andre Baptiste that if his house was on the line and if he had to pick one batsman to save it - Viv or Lara who would he pick. He said without a moments hesitation - VIV..
The Titties never forgave him for that
