West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer is expected to return to the regional team in short order, having recently passed a fitness test.

The player has been practicing with the Windies team during its ongoing One Day International series against India, despite not being named as a member of the ODI squad.  The way will now be clear for Hetmyer to return to active duty having passed a fitness test on Tuesday.

“We hope to have him back soon, I think he passed the fitness test this morning, which is wonderful news, so we expect to have him back as soon as possible,” Pooran told members of the media on Tuesday.

General attitude?

What does that even mean?

Curtis 2022-07-27 17:42:33

Hetty mumbled he's a skunt under his breath. "Bannas, rake yuh skunt", but he probably meant it for Polly.

remember a time Hetty skin up he teeth and jump pun puffy back? big grin

Ok I see now.

Yes Hetty can be childish but I find when addressing that kind of behavior it is usual to address it specifically

My teachers used to complain to my grands that I don’t take anything seriously and they were true

But my grands always used to tell them we like the boy how he is.

They knew I would grow up at some point and I did

Hetty must be told about his errant behavior but loved nevertheless big grin

Woohoo Yeehoo... a professional cricketer passes a fitness test (not due to injury or illness) and that's a cause for celebration.

And we wonder why WI cricket is in such a shithole!

Through no fault of yours, you were unaware of the shoulder injury that Hetty got in India in the IPL.

The lack of information given out by CWI is the cause of many problems in WI cricket.
'The T 20 series will begin in 2 days and there is no named T 20 squad for the public to mull over.

Y'all better hope that Tequila goddess don't issue a recall and make him unavailable again...

So why all the talk of attitude issues and the coach not wanting him on the team?

I know Hety is your boy and you're full of excuses for him but even you must admit his physical fitness is not up to scratch for international cricket!

There is a lot of personality issues in WI cricket. It is not new.We have been down this road before with Gayle,Sarwan and Samuels and before them Lara and Hooper.Dealing with talented young men can be a challenge to less talented older folks. This is compounded by these youngsters earning a lot of money outside of West Indies cricket.

I make no excuses for him.I merely pointed out that if you have a policy it must not have loopholes for the anointed.People were not aware of who were given exemptions until it was leaked.

We can thank President Empty Skillet for that medical exemptions policy. Promises made, promises kept ... and the good of West Indies cricket be damned. The initial purpose was to get a certain player from the Leewards into the West Indies team, but apparently no thought was given to the effect that silly policy would have on other WI players.

Apparently a new physiological condition exists which resulted in a medical exemption.Back in the old days we used to call it OBESITY.!!!!!!
