Amazing the ability of this percussive instrument in setting a tone....is there a more impactful or important instrument?

You must play drums, correct?
I remember a post of zouk drum patterns that you sent, enjoyed that.
Big drum guy here too.
Who are your favorite drummers?

Haha....it would seem so. But sadly i do not play. I love them though. Have wanted to play forever.
Thought hard about purchasing African drums during the pandemic. But alas, my wrist would not allow me to take advantage of that dream.
There is nothing, nothing, that stirs my emotions like the beat of a drum.
All drums originate in Africa - that is all

All people too for that matter

You could go the electronic route to ease the physical stress

You might be right. Manufactured there for sure.

True....but them is the bastardization of the art. Lol. As a youngster maybe, at this age, it's the real thing or nothing.
A very special instrument indeed.
I dunno who invented it or when. We can all agree that drums are a huge part of Asian culture and has been so for millennia.
But we also have to agree that no culture has done more artistically and rhythmically with the drum as the Afican people.
But aside from that, this was not meant to be a racial or cultural fight for the instrument. Rather an appreciation of the instrument itself and its place in all fo4ms of music and observance.
