If GAW is to have any chance

Of overhauling that total……Hety has to come in at 3

4 at the very latest

Not seeing my friend Dukes on the board. Hope he’s alright in Florida. Nuff bad weather there.

Don’t understand tbese tactics.

Shakib comes in ahead of Hety?????

Unless……,.,Hety ain’t all that? Dukes?? cool

imusic 2022-09-29 01:40:01

Now Keemo before Hety??

Hety couldn’t be hiding from spin bowling could he?

No way!!! Dukes testified that Hety is the best player of spin in the region!

Can’t be!!!!

Whatever the “straregy”……I don’t get it.

But..GAW can prove it to be a correct strategy. There’s still time

i have seen on too many ocassions in the field this season where Hety just disappears in the field when things going bad

i am disappointed he allows things to drift as much as they do when bowlers are all over...he doesn't even come up to talk to them

so far very little to suggest he has command...but i give him a pass this season as it's his first

he may well score big tonight and win it but overall his captaincy has been average imho

Hety looks lost in the field all the time...no plan...operating on impulse all the time...bringing on bowlers and changing willy nilly

Why is Sheppy is still given the ball in a 19th over is mind boggling

Raskil 2022-09-29 01:46:39

it is baffling

I would call pure and unadulterated hiding....this is a shame and disgrace...Hety is not cappo material as yet...if ever

I don’t blame him for rhe way he got out tonight.

That’s an imposing total GAW are chasing. Had to go for it.

Didn’t work out

Scoreboard pressure! That is why you WIN TOSS, you facting bat every time in a BIG MATCH!

clearly you aint seen Hety Innings ...ever...Hety is hit or miss at best..and fluke.

He is guaranteed to lose his wicket stupidly...so coming in at 3 just means he woulda been back in the hutch sooner.

Captains knock in yuh pweffen

I disagree. Brooks displayed that batting with INTENT as opposed to just slugging and blocking, is very effective in modern day T20. Hetmeyer, Pooran and all the so-called ‘FINISHERS’ need to play some serious red ball cricket so that they can learn how to BAT again. As you stated, they should be batting at least by number 4 if they are the best batsmen in their respective teams.

Curious

What red ball cricket was Pooran playing when up to just over a year ago, he was averaging over 45 in ODI cricket and considered to be one of the best young T20 batsmen in the game?

mikelegend 2022-09-29 03:13:10

The TOP TEN ODI batsmen in the world all have something in common as opposed to both Hetmeyer and Pooran. Check it out.

That’s a deflection.

Please answer the question

Thanks

As for your deflection, Shai Hope would have to be considered among the top 10 ODI batsmen in the game.

How much red ball cricket has he played?

How has that helped his batting in test cricket?

Thanks

mikelegend 2022-09-29 04:01:41

In reply to imusic

For ODIs, Pooran is CURRENTLY number 28 in the world…Hetty even worse at number 59. Shai Hope has dropped to number 15. In T20I Pooran is currently at number 12 and seems to be obviously struggling at the moment. Hetmeyer (the finisher) is at an abysmal NINETY(90). If I am not mistaken Shai Hope still plays first class cricket, it certainly has helped in his ODI game. He obviously needs more work.

These stats are as SOLID as a seive!

tell me which ODI team would pick Pooran.

the real deflection is from your keyboard bro.

Pooran needs basic training.- FACTS

The fact that Like Pollard he had a fantastic START...eventually like Pollard...he got FOUND out.

Dont misdirect from the salient truth that Pooran would Benefit tremendously from first class exposure.

you by your robust defense of his current form of mediocrity screams volumes as to WHY he is being persisted with...perhaps...they think just like you

Hands up for those who are COMFORTABLE with Pooran LEADING this team to a bus stop...much less into the WC 2022

Pooran is a talented cricketer but he will deteriorate rather than get better at the white ball game because of his failure to play more red ball cricket. None of these white ball specialists will achieve the heights that test cricketer Chris Gayle achieved without working on the fundamentals they need to thrive when they come up against better quality bowling

What fundamentals are these?

How has playing red ball cricket helped Roston Chase? John Campbell? Bonner? Brooks (yesterday’s one off innings aside)?

Going further back…..how did it help Devon Smith internationally? Ganga?

You all are making “convenient correlations” where none such truly exists. Just a theory.

The current “king” of WI red ball cricket and WI test captain does allright in the test arena.

Yet cannot make a squad in either ODI’s or T20’s.

I don’t see any of you demanding he play LO cricket to augment his batting for test cricket.

It suggests these comments are more about personality and theoretical, then actual substance.

You’ll give examples of Kohli , Kane Williamson, Babr Adam etc as why red ball cricket is beneficial to players that mostly play franchise T20 cricket.

Yet conveniently iffnore all those I previously mentioned who are the real comparative set for the Pooran’s and Hetmeyer’s.

Agreed 100%.

Right now neither Pooran nor Hetmeyer seem to have the ability to compose themselves at the wicket, assess the game situation, bat with some patience, or even rotate the strike. It's 6 and out.
