some of my best early memories of watching live cricket are from these 2
Ambi's 7 for 1 on radio late into the night just when i couldn't miss a game
i remember in a regional limited overs game back in 92 or 93 at Blairmont Shiv pulled Ambi viciously for a 4 and the next ball the leather was flying past Shiv's nose
Getting hold now but wasn't Shiv's FC debut 90 against Ambi and co. at Bourda? I didn't watch that one but listened on the radio
then the long 90s
happy for both of them working together and doing well
the win will be perfect

Bish looked at Shiv being interviewed a few days ago...and Shiv with his American accent...Bish smiled and said in the early days Shiv was his room mate...and at that time he (Bish) could never have imagined Shiv would be coaching...he also recalled Ambi was also his room mate at one time 
I remember about 15 years ago ...here on this board Chrissy was criticizing Shiv and praising Kanhai for being able to speak well..at that time I told her that Kanhai was much older...and married to an Englishwoman....and that Shiv will get there too.....today he has reached and still improving..
BTW Shiv must thank his ex ( Amy) for arranging speech therapy for him in Florida when they were still married.

Down to earth brother that has his feet firmly on ground..notice his cool , cross the leg ., relax mode he was in ... he calming Ambi down too ..

Like y'all forget when Ambi and Shiv had it out in the dressing room and Shiv almost put a bat pon he rass?
It was after that incident that Ambi started calling him 'Tiger'.

The story is the 6ft plus Ambi was picking on the lil puny 5'4" 100 lb Shiv in the dressing room....shiv picked his bat and jumped on a table....he was then taller than Ambi...and told Ambi...'come yuh skunt come now'....Ambi watched him for a minute...and then burst out laughing....and told Shiv...nah ah not coming...you are a tiger

Shiv and Ambi have always had a good and healthy respect for each other. In fact Shiv once told me that early on in his career he would always try to sit between Ambrose and Walsh, just to listen to them talk strategy. He said he learnt alot about how bowlers think and work out batsmen. There are quite a few photos of Shiv in between these two much taller men.

I noticed Chanders stayed, sort-of in the background during the huddle when Jamaica was going in to bowl. He gave Ambi full space and command, rightly so because it’s the defense coach’s job to take over his bowling unit.
Not knocking Sammy, however I see him overactive during breaks in his role thus far.
Time will tell.
