Only In Guyana folks. ... I must say this type of banter is what I missed most during my recent absence. A few minutes ago I stopped to buy some cucumbers. Me: " I would like some young ones because I am making sandwiches." Vendor: " All young!" Woman standing nearby: "ALL YOUNG?" Vendor: " Ah seh all young. I is a young woman and I does only sell young ting." The bystander: "YOU YOUNG??" Lol ..Well, as Tante Merle would say, "Who tell she say dat."
Vendor: " How yuh mean if I young? I ain't gone upstairs yet. I could still mek chirren." Well, I am now laughing. Bystander: " Well, I gone upstairs lang time." (Menopause) I am now cracking up, and so we're they when I said, "Well, I gone upstairs so long that I ready to come back down." I love my people.

Guyanese Cook up main ingredients are typically rice, black eye peas, coconut milk and any type of meat depending on your preference all in one pot. However, some varieties are made without meat and may include ocra, spinach etc.

My better half is a very hard task master
Mudland is the only place (outside of Yard) that was up to her standard when it comes to the cuisine because she was treated very well during the the times we spent there .
