Former West Indies captain Sir Richie Richardson received an honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) for his contribution to sport at the UWI Five Islands Campus graduation ceremony on Saturday.
Speaking at the event in Antigua and Barbuda, Richardson, 60, urged Caribbean people from “small islands” to never look at themselves as being small, because they all had big hearts and could compete with anyone in the world.
Richardson told the graduating class of 2022 that he was proud to be an ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda, and proud to represent the region as a cricketer.
“I remain optimistic and hopeful that the WI will return to being the best cricketing team in the world someday, hopefully pretty soon.”

They didnt have to submit no thesis, and navigate no viva.

Pharmaceutical companies (and I guess others too) are verifying all education now....by contacting the Universities/colleges.....they are not 'trusting' hard copy degrees/diplomas or such claims in a resume.
I have seen many cases where students are coming out of India and Pakistan with degrees and higher degrees which are fake in the sense the student did not attend any classes and where the degrees were in fact issued by the Universities by corrupt officials.

I was once in Oistins with one of my a friend, people kept calling him Dr. Layne, I had to a ask him the reason for the doctor.
Before he answer there was some cussing, reminding me that he was my room mate when he did his doctorate, my response was, and they call you doctor because of that.
More cussing and then he wanted to get me drunk.
I am spending some time with my ex-wife and son, who has just move back to Calgary, she has a PHD, she would think it was a joke and I am being funny, to call her Dr Lewis.
