Just give someone else the cap and see if his performance improves. If not sit him.
How many more failures do we need to see before we accept maybe later but now is not the time for Pooran.

Gotta see we made a mistake with Pooran
In reply to nick2020
Pullhard got him firmly planted there!

We are too slow to correct things. When last has Pooran made a decent total?
I agree. His performance is getting so predictable now, so much so that opposition teams are calculating on getting 9 WI wickets only.....
So Pollard had power over West Indies selectors, anyway making Pooran captain was a big surprise for many followers in the Caribbean, many followers with a little foresight saw this coming. His batting was so much more important for our team, captaincy was a heavy weight around his neck, release him from torture and give the captaincy to Holder.
I have no problem with POO as captain. Just where he is batting.

If he was not Captain he would have been dropped a long time ago.
How come Sammy was crucified so but there are actually Pooran apologists?
At least Sammy could come good with the bat and when he was not hiding from bowling he bowled economically.
All Pooran contributes to the team is captaincy.

we criticize sammy for the same reason we criticize RTN.....they both got the job because of politics. Sammy escapes because he won two world cups, was a genuine team man and somehow managed to get the love and support of the people his handlers put him in opposition to-gayle, bravo and sarwan.
RTN doh escape because he was incompetent in every facet of the game aside from 3 or 4 performances in his entire career across franchise and international cricket.
I dunno anybody defending pooran's captaincy....most of us are seeing his receding as a batsman as a direct result of the added responsibility of captaincy and feel he should give it up

Crucified but not dropped.
The way the team celebrated one would think that we made it to the semis or something. Pooran is not the right man for the job and it is affecting his batting. I certainly hope we can see a repeat of this come Friday.

so........they did the same during the qualifiers for the 2019 world cup under Jason....while losing to Afghanistan, then an associate and beating the scots only due to an awful decision and rain. Yuh nitpicking.

So it was pathetic, that's what! The fact is we qualified for the ODI World Cup. Getting beaten in the final didn't mean squat except not getting a worthless trophy. We have not qualified for the t20 World Cup as yet and better get our act together. Ireland will make things very difficult for us and as I said at the beginning of the qualifiers, we cannot be complacent. I call it like it is, EOS has been piss poor of late and needs to lead from the front with his batting.

homie.....this is part of the tournament....the official title is the first round of the WT20. The only tournament the WI had to qualify for, other than 2019, was the 2006 icc champions trophy where we faced SL and Bangla, with us and SL going through and the WI reaching the final under BCL

There is no shame in handing the captaincy to Powell and let Pooran focus on his batting. But WI selectors too proud to admit they made a mistake.
In reply to googley
its not a given powell will succeed......but pooran really needs to focus on his batting and i think giving up the captaincy will more than help

Simple fix. Bat Poo at 7. He is the wicketkeeper. So either he opens or bats at 7.
In reply to natty_forever
bring in shai as the WK, bat pooran at four or 5
In reply to Jumpstart
You still nuh get it. He needs to bat when we need yam-licking. Until he regains some form.
In reply to natty_forever
Moron......if he can't hit the ball off the square, how do you expect him to be hitting big
In reply to Jumpstart
Asshole, then what good is he up front.
You go fack yourself you facking bunboclaat raasclaat idiot. Yeah you touch a nerve. Now go fack yourself!

he isn't good up front clown.....has never been. Usually, even in t20s, pooran comes in at four or 5....when he single handedly beat Alescon Comets playing for QPCC, he came in at 5, scored 56 and won them a game they most certainly would have lost. When he started in the 2013 super 50, he batted at seven, and the TT team wisely recognized he wasn't just a slogger and moved him up to five. That is the position he played in the world cup when australia carved through his teammates but he scored 150 something.
The presshah has built up on poor Poo. I watched the teenage Poo destroy mudland in T20.
I saw the U19 Poo make 143 at the WC.
Poo recovered from a serious car accident and has shown he has the class
There is no doubt in my mind Poo can really bat
But now.....at the WC in OZ....obviously ALL opponents have studied his batting intensely...and have prepared for him....this string of single digits must be hurting him terribly...his mind must be cluttered with his own form and the team's performnace to date
He has to do something radically different...he HAS to try something....his team mates are obviously seeing him as a walking wicket...much less the other teams
So for me....he should open the batting with Charles...he faces the first ball and preferably WI is batting first...and Poo making full use of the power play to rumble...and he must call on Haysoos to give him the confidence to rumble big...and bring glory.
OR
he could stand honourably down for this coming match and hope the WI team wins and qualify.

It takes a person who failed at leadership, to have grudges against who was part of their cohort.
People must look at your leadership at WIPA, it need a complete expeople, amination.
It is time you get a dose of your medicine

agree but what we got to lose? Its worth a shot.
pooran needs to step down to save himself and his career. A non performing captain is the saddest figure in all of cricket, even sadder than a fast bowler being hit back over his head for 6 on the front foot

I think by now the Board has realized that they made a serious error but two things are in their way - pride and getting the right candidate to replace joim
I see an half century on the horizon.
