Simmons, I respect the fact that you have realised that it is time to move on. Though belated, I never doubted your commitment to W.I cricket. I wish you all the best on behalf of the Rumshop and may you hold your head up high, knowing that you still left us with some fond memories.

I believe that Big Phil will do well in next job

who would employ a man unable to navigate a team who were recently two times champions and in a qualifying group against minnows which was 4 and all he had to do was finish 2nd but he gracefully took the last spot. After winning all three tosses to give his team the chance to dictate terms before their weaker opponents.

Name the coaches when we won those championships and you will find the answer to your question

The bigger question is ...who in their right mind will want to Coach West Indies.

One of those minnows just beat your beloved England
Phil Simmons .. My best memory of that man was fighting hard to conquer a hot spicy doubles. Come to think of it, did he get the better of it? I saw him back n forth shuffle on the spot trying to get the better of it. It looked like he didnt even have the tactical know how to win even that battle.

It has not been all doom and gloom with Simmons as head coach:
2016 t20 World Cup trophy
Beat Australia 4-1 in t20 series
Beat Sri Lanka 2-1 in t20 series
Beat Sri Lanka 3-0 in ODI series
Beat England in t20 series
Beat England 1-0 in a hard fought series
Led the Tridents to their second title when it looked like they were down and out
These are the fond memories I have of Mr. Simmons and I appreciate what he did in the past. However, Big Phil is not the man to carry this team forward and he is well aware of that. He can coach other minnows that are trying to get onto the world stage and he is good enough to get them there. As I stated, I get the feeling he will do well in his next job, let's wait and see what happens .
Phil not the problem
Multiple coaches over the years, same s@it.
Bigger than coach

Simmons has not left a legacy for anyone to build on. That's the hallmark of someone who leaves something worthwhile behind. Clive Loyld left Viv with a cornerstone to use and build pon. Alan Border leave a solid headboard for his successor to make his bed with...etc...etc...

He certainly won't after we are thumped up 2-0 by the Aussies.
