Viv is crazy, if he thinks that this current W.I. had any chance of winning or even competing in the 2022 T20i championship...

The talent is simply not there..

After W.I. got eliminated, I paid particular attention to the other matches.

The talent gap is as wide as the Grand Canyon..


There has been a trend concerning West Indies success over the years.

We dominate at a particular format at its inception...

World Cup '75, '79, should have been '83 also.

Then the other nations refine the strategy and approach to the sport and West Indies are left trying to catch up..

Same with T20i.. we prevailed in 2012 and 2016.... But since then the leading cricket playing nations have refined T20 cricket into a very sophisticated contest. And again West Indies is left out in the cold scratching our heads...

Field placing, Bowling changes, Accuracy, Innovative batting, these are things that West Indies is way ay behind in...

Did anybody see Surya innings against Zimbabwe sunday morning..?

That's what our guys need to be learning how to do before we talk about competing in 2022..

And it's not Simmonns fault either..

I disagree.
Each player is capable of delivering top world class performances at any point in time.
The problem is they are just not consistent.
For that the coach gets the blame

Windies has no star players only cowboys; that's the bane of their failure!

Simmo is a limited coach... I give you that.

But the talent pool is very low in the West Indies.

Do we have anyone that can give four 90mph overs like Ferguson or Nortje...? No... But Pakistan and England have..

Do we have batters like the Pakistan opening pair? no... but England has Buttler and Australia have Maxwell and a host of others. India, well everyone knows how loaded they are...

Even Sam Curran is working hard at his craft.. we have no equivalent when it comes to work ethic. You gon blame Simmo..!

Our batters cannot negotiate slow bowling.. you gon blame Simmo...!


You should come to the caribbean and watch how these guys practice... its sickening to watch... lets blame simmo for that too...

you do realize this sounds like madness......WI had no business losing to ireland and the scots.....both of them barely play cricket......far less regularly than us.

we have alzarri, who bowls well over 145 and mccoy is capable of bowling close to 150, but barely does it as his slower ball is extremely good.

Hetmeyer and pooran are ten times more gifted than babar and rizwan. hope is as talented as hety and pooran. The difference is discipline. Its like the difference between hooper and lara.....the only difference was discipline and application

Don't you think that Simmons had influence on Pooran becoming cappo.

Pooran upstage Hope who was VC to become ODI cappo.

Pollard was mysteriously ill and missed a ODI game allowing
Pooran to captain the games.
BTW no VC was names for the tour (mysterious as Hope was VC at that time).

Simmons to blame for part of these poor performances of late.

At time I like your posts, even though you are quite uncouth,
But this post is pure crap.

Sir Viv, scored runs a plenty against better spin attacks.
Hindia and Paks include one pacer in some games
versus West Indies and Sir Viv killed them.

So please post sense or I will withdraw the little support that I give you.

Your supporting cast here is minuscule at best.

But we did.... And Ireland beat us 2-1 in the ODI series back in January...

Losing to Scotland was our reality check.... ignore it if you want...

Yes he has.
Before his injuries.

He seem intent on bowling slower balls,
but that was not wise in Ozzieland.

I love and respect Viv Richards but I have a problem with this:

Sir Viv didn’t you, Haynes, Lloyd and others did that same thing when you guys abandoned us and went to play World Series for Kerry Parker for more money?
I find it’s unfair to be so hard on the T20 players that make much more money. Opportunities come one in a while when we are young and we should embrace them because we never know how tomorrow will be. I often think of Winston Davis, who was involved in an accident and got paralyzed. Does he have a monthly cheque from the board? I am sure if one of our star T20 players would get paralyzed like Davis they would not have to depend on CWI to meet their needs. Cricket is not a loyalty game but it’s a career and in careers we look for where we make more money

I too blame the players for our failure but the blame should start at top. By the way since Sir Viv retired what kind of infield contribution has made to West Indies cricket? I know people like Ghana, Robert’s, Ambrose, Walsh, Laggie, Haynes and many more of our former players contributed significantly to the on field development of our players but can’t remember if Sir Viv, Lara, Bishop and a few more ever contributed to the development of our game like the Chappels, Rick Pontain, Jeff Thompson and others did after they retired

While I criticize Sir Viv for abandoning West Indies for greener pastures during the World Series of Kerry Parker I also want to give him credit for not abandoning us Rebel tour of South Africa during the years of apartheid. Sir Viv I remember was given a blank check to write any amount he wanted but he chose not to. I just feel West Indies should work with our T20 star players because that’s how they earn a livelihood. Besides cricket West Indies gets a good size cheque from the IPl for every West Indian signed so I don’t see what’s the big deal
