Richarlison praised as idol Brazilians deserve after Bolsonaro era
Richarlison is the idol Brazilians deserve after so much suffering, the sports journalist Talyta Vespa wrote on Friday in one of many tributes to the players off-field activism and charity work.
Richarlison or the Pigeon, as fans know him, thanks to his avian-style celebrations is by far the most progressive member of Brazils seleção. In recent years, as his homeland fell under the control of Bolsonaros far-right administration, Richarlison has repeatedly spoken out on topics such as racism, poverty, police and gender violence, LGBTQ+ rights and environmental destruction.
Ole Ole Ole Brazil Brazil!!!
Into the round of 16
In reply to Chrissy
Good wagonists tho'
In reply to Chrissy
excellent display from Brazil in the 2nd half. Switzerland is one of the most disciplined, defensive teams in the tournament. It took a while but the goal and build up were classic brazil
In reply to Chrissy
To be fair, Brazil colours line up pretty well with a Jamaican colour theme
In reply to Chrissy
the attack isn't as sophisticated without Neymar, but Vini did an excellent job and most of the other teams would not be as defensive or as good at defending as the Swiss.
In reply to bdaTryangle
Ive been supporting Brazil from we lived next door to one another
In reply to bdaTryangle African colrs bro'
0-0 Half Time
In reply to Chrissy
I think that Brazil was a bit like West Indies in that they're the 'second team' of several other nations.
In reply to Scar
I think that's a part of it too. Specifically the yellow (and green).
In reply to Chrissy
Cameron scores....1-0 in time added... Brazil played like tata...they can't win without
Neymar on the field.
Maybe for the first time ever none of the 16 in playoff round has a perfect record from
group play. Brazil was the only one left who could have had that record.
Good for Africa this WC.
In reply to hubert
Good win for Cameroon - 1st African nation to beat Brazil in a WC.
Brazil had so many chances here.

In reply to Discourse
The last time Brazil was leading 4-0 in a world cup match at half time was 1964 with the greatest of them all Pele. How fitting!
Corrected Pele started WCs in 58
I'm in Ocho Rios at the bar watching this match. Bare Brazil shirts deh
This looking like a 6 or 7 goal trouncing
So if you're Brazil, how soon do you pull Neymar to let him rest up and not risk (further)injury?
In reply to eXodus
Hope so - enjoy yourself!

England fan trolling hard on the BBC page:
'How many of the Brazil team would you have in the England side?'
Tweet using #bbcfootball or text 81111 (UK only - standard message rates apply)
Lee: Honestly Brazil have not been that good. They have looked questionable in defence and going forward ran out of ideas in the second half. How many of the Brazil team would you have in the England side? Two maybe three?
Ole Ole Ole- fabulous!

My B'ingham sisters asked me to support England.
Chrissys power is beyond cricket as well
The inevitable. They could have saved 1 goal out of the 4 that propel them into the quarter final.
Someone need to to do an investigation into what happening to Brazilian football. Samba football dead and I am not sure what is the current shyte that Brazilian play but its certainly not football. I hope Pele didn't watch it as it will surely be his final demise.
In reply to carl0002
Agree whole heartedly...Samba no longer exists so we can only live on sweet memories past
when the 'Beautiful game"was Brazil's signature.
I did not expect them to get this far either
In reply to hubert
