Big shoes to fill I hope he can find his own way, congratz Tage I had almost given up on you. Can anyone post stats on Batsmen repping West Indies on debut in Australia? Century first up?

Tagenarine was picked as a reserve batter for the home series against Bangladesh, but now he is expected to open the batting alongside captain Kraigg Brathwaite. Tagenarine has reached the national side after a great domestic season. The lefty was the second-highest run-getter in the 2021-22 West Indies four-day championship. He amassed 439 runs in eight innings at an average of 73.16.

A left-hander, Tagenarine marks his guard by hammering the bail into the pitch and in true family tradition prefers grinding away at the opposition rather than beating them to a pulp.
lol

That’s incorrect. That wasn’t his 1st match.

He played a match prior to that and scored 4

I do hope he scores another century tonight in the 2nd innings

Ton in the 1st innings and a 50* at Tea on the 4th evening - no need to rush, play it simple and get a 75 or 80 not out. If you do get a century, that would be the topping on the cake.

Good confidence for Tage - can’t see how he wouldn’t get is 1st Test cap next week

I am looking forward to a moment of history. When I can say I witnessed the debit of a 19 yr old who ended up becoming a great. Then, decades later watched hisc26yr old son debut!
