Time to reclassify T20s/T10s as junk not cricket
In reply to allan Im with ya...well, except...only have the world cup & the IPL!
In reply to allan
Nah, just reclassify ODIs and Tests as Classic Cricket.
Advertise it as being wheelchair friendly, Give out free Depends. The aficionados, the infirm and elderly will flock to the games!

Why you don't go and deal with murca problems and leave out we cricket?
In reply to allan Unfair. Different markets, age groups and whether casual or classic cricket followers. Only helps cricket.

I only watch CPL in support of our local franchises...
I wanna start a T5 league. Each bowler can only bowl 3 deliveries and the team that hits the most sixes wins. Teams will be penalised for rotating the strike, -1 for each run made rather than hitting a boundary. Each free hit will give the opportunity to score double the runs. For exanple, a six becomes 12 and a 4 becomes 8 runs.
If the match goes to a super over, the team that hits the most sixes wins. If no team can hit a six in that over, we go to sudden death. The first team to hit a six wins.
Therefore, it is basically a 6 or out game.
In reply to Windiesfan78 Believe it or not I played in a T2 competition in Bim many moons ago at Wanderers Cricket Club. Remember Collis King played. Don't know if they still have that competition. Was organised by Ricky Clarke.

Yo Red, how goes it? Tell me a bit more about it. What were the scores like?
In reply to allan
England are currently showing you with the advent of T20 cricket just how exciting Test cricket can become lol
In reply to Windiesfan78 It was so long ago all I remember is Collis King scored 42
In reply to RedDuppy
Cool, how did you do?
In reply to allan
Do whatever.I still prefer Tet cricket but lickit is great for players..
Employment and good money to formerly starving cricketers make it a
wonderful part of the Cricket.
I would be gravitating to it if I were a youth..
$$$$$$$$ counts even more in these days .
dont have a problem with players wanting to "eat a food" but just keep it away from the name cricket, they could even call it Pickleball (the new craze among yuppies) for all i care.

There is some merit in it.
Sadly the real essence from which Cricket was born means precious little to the T20 now T10 crowd.
In reply to Windiesfan78 Me and my buddy got knocked out in the quarterfinals. Had 21 to win. My buddy got over excited at some long hops being bowled in Over 1 and only scored 2 leaving me to get 19 off the last over. I hit back to back sixes and then got caught behind. We should have won it easily but such is life.
I hanging on for T1 cricket.
In reply to RedDuppy
Sounded like a lot of fun. That is truly a six or out game .
And we are aghast at the Caribbean youths attitude to test cricket...just look at the similar scorn for the limited version on show
In reply to cumberland
Probably because one will not improve as a batter if one limits themselves to 'lick it' cricket. I have mentioned this already, the best batters in the world play across the three formats.
