Hope he stays around for the WC win
Brazilian icon Pele has been transferred to palliative care after doctors discovered that he was no longer responding to chemotherapy.
Pele has been receiving treatment for bowel cancer and was recently diagnoses with a respiratory infection during his latest spell in hospital, although he was soon stabilised in relation to the infection and could continue treatment on the cancer.
According to Folha de Sao Paulo, chemotherapy was no longer having any positive effects on Pele and the decision was made to transfer the 82-year-old to palliative care, where he is receiving comforting measures for his shortness of breath and pain.

well it is palliative care and not hospice care so there might be a glimmer of hope no matter how slight it may be..

In reply to ChrissyFrom what the doctors said, the tumor took about 10 years to get to the size of 3cm Dia,anyway it hasn't spread to any organ in my body although it is cancerous, they tell me it is stage one, which gives me a good feeling but I never take cancer for granted, from experience of work mates and my younger brother,he died from exactly the same cancer. If I could say no to CHEMO i would, the side effects many.I have already had 4 months of Chemo.

One of the bravest public personalities I see embracing death in the face of cancer was Christopher Hitchins!
He had no fear of the great beyond, something I doubt I could do!
I would have to anchor my faith in the Christocentric belief in the hereafter.
True or not, at least it provides me with some hope!
My mom recovered from cancer over ten years now, and she is up and running - a brave soul if ever there was one!
Like yourself I would be hesitant with that chemo bit but "a man gats to do what he gats to do"

I share his worldview. Look how many of my ancestors have long gone - were all here for a short time. I dont need the promise of eternity to keep me going. I will eventually be going the saw way all the others went
from dust to dust.
I love life but have no fear of dying. And there will be no ceremony- my corpse will be chopped up by medical students.

Im appreciative of you going public at an early stage with your condition. Better yet the responses provided. Just shows how humans can be supportive nevermind the barbs, picong and sometimes downright meanness.
If you have a hobby now is the perfect time to take it seriously. Keep in mind others of similar fate. Live as best you could. Carry on smartly. Shalom!
