Trini Roti

FanAttick 2022-12-08 13:08:16

I was longing for some good Trini roti so I bought some on CaribShopper..cost me an arm and a leg but well worth it.. I paid USD 79 for this package from a brand called WeFoods

Bundle contains 3 packs of buss up shut roti skins, 3 packs of dhalpouri roti skins and 1 mango talkari. Each bag of buss up shut roti contains 2 servings and each bag of dhalpourie roti contains 4 skins.

I got it delivered within 36 hours of placing the order….shipped directly from Trinidad…
The dhalpouri skins were much better than the buss up shut which were a tad doughy….overall I dont regret the purchase…

Just curious. How was it packaged to avoid spoilage?

I came frozen in a sealed styrofoam box which was inside an outer cardboard box….delivered by FedEx..The quality was nice and fresh and tasted great when I reheated it in the microwave for about 45 seconds

Actually the delivery time was closer to 30 hours..I placed the order Tuesday morning at 6am and the package was delivered yesterday at 12 noon EST….

I’ve had some decent ones over the years but same as with Yardie food I prefer the ones from the source….maybe its the pimento wood that its cooked on back home…

Never reheat roti in a MW
double wrap in foil with a damp paper towel between the two layers of foil. Perfectly fresh

Generally I agree, but for smaller portions a few seconds at a time in the MW works ok…

Thanks for the FedEx half price day info. That's why I keep coming back to CC.com. It's surprising what one can learn here. big grin

Thanks Fan. Seems frozen food in a styrofoam box inside a cardboard box is the standard delivery method.

Fortunately I have a Guyanese lady who takes care of my roti and samosa needs. big grin
