Insularity, lack of proper team selection, lack of proper team preparation and overall team management have all colluded to ruin West Indies cricket. Let this test team play at least two matches against each regional team, then select a new West Indies team not based on popularity but based on actual on field performances.

Select a new WI team after playing Regional teams
The writing was already on the wall and ignored by CWI administration from the time Jamaica B outplayed West Indies against Ireland.

While there is lot of talk about insularity in selecting the WI team, I feel the problem is the selection and scouting at regional level. When our FC teams, against equaly ill equiped opponents cannot score 200 in an innings, how would the same group score 500 against international opponents?
I had high hopes for Blackwood, the VC. Sad to see him completely at sea.
I remember the time when I believed Hope, Chase and Blackwood will togather form a good middle order and with Brathwaite they should be able to shore our batting. To see all 3 of them completely lost shows how bad our players are at stepping up or how bad our structure is to develop our batsmen.

Something is wrong, as all those talented players you mentioned should by now be on top of their game and on top of world rankings, I wonder if the problem is coaching or self-esteem and psychological problems.

CWI always pick their teams before a tournament that they organized to pick a team is finished.
We have no damn structure. Only a bunch of overpaid so called administrators and coaches.
We think we are relevant but Australia showed us we are way below the level of international standards.
That is all on the CWI.
Haynes, Jimmy Adams and co as well as this bunch of losers calling themselves coaches are all to blame.

Winning is not a priority with CWI. In many cases it seems that we are there to provide fodder. Take for example the WODI series against England. Somehow England batted first in all three games. And beat us by an average of 145. The same thing happened against India where the goal seem to have been to make the game last at least four days.

So what measures could be implemented to prevent this humiliation from ever happening again to another WI cricket team? Are the coaches and administrators humble enough to step aside and allow others with the best interest of WI cricket in mind to take over?
The West Indies can only change when the Regional Boards start changing up their squads.
I hope the HPC/Academy get to play in the FC Tournament.
Start looking at changing Regional retainers to 'performance based'.
We might have to face our reality that local cricketers need international experience and significant emphasis should be placed on organizing tournaments or coaching stints for our WI A team and even WI B team, in England, Australia and India. I see no shame in us requesting help in the coaching our young talented players overseas, the real humiliation is our test team been bowled out for 70 runs in a test match, regardless of whom is our opponent.

An 'B' Team could be selected to play against the CWI/HPC Academy.
i think that the focus should be on A and B tours both to the WI, to play in our FC competition, and then the best players from that competition to tour as A teams. We have to try to bridge the gap between our standards (where men average 20+ can make the team) and international standards. If it is that we are still in the generation of players that are just not good enough, we need to bind our bellies and bear it.
