Why did Pooran's price go up from INR 10.75 to 16 crore despite his poor recent form?
Some may have thought that Pooran's IPL stock would have fallen because of his poor recent run: since August this year, Pooran averages only 10.80 from 20 T20 innings with a strike rate of 114.28. Those included his disappointing scores of 13, 7 and 5 in the T20 World Cup after which he resigned as West Indies captain.
But a few things would have worked in Pooran's favour in the auction on Friday. One, his recent scores. He turned his form around by hammering 345 runs in the Abu Dhabi T10 at a staggering strike rate of 234.69 with the help of 25 sixes and 31 fours in just 10 innings. Second, he has impressive strike rates against both spin (152.20 in 31 innings) and pace (151.42 from 39 innings) in the IPL.
Lastly, many teams were looking for a wicketkeeper and Pooran fits into that role. Whether INR 16 crore ($1.95 million) was worth spending on him or not is debatable, but such are the dynamics of a mini-auction.]

AND I HAVE NO PR0BLEM WITH THAT
BTW.....IPL is preparing two so called FINISHERS for WI
I am celebrating ALL the WI players at IPL

How do you know the IPL wanted Nicholas to resign? Puncheon told you? Alcoholic hallucinations have never revealed the truth on hetmeyer? What about past players in England? What about that hero? Here is why this mega deal for Nicky P could be a blessing for WI cricket.This deal hopefully reduces his desire to chase Freanchise deals all over the world and allows him to only play IPL franchise cricket.It should also give him the financial base to now focus on fulfilling all cricketer's innermost desire and that is to be recognized as a great of the game.One can only be recognized as such from one's performances in TEST CRICKET. If he is only playing IPL he is available for 10 months of each year to play TEST CRICKET for the WI.Anybody who is earning over 1 Million dollars from the IPL does not need to play other franchise cricket if there are CWI sanctioned cricket being played at that time.

His big payday is based on promise/potential to perform. However, if he does not deliver, his cork duck! If the pressure of the big payday plays on his mind, he better get some consultant to help guide him....its for his own good.
On the other hand, if he delivers he is set for life...like Narine. Good for him, if that happens.
