Never thought I'd say this, but I'm happy to finally see some snow. It has been dark, rainy, and just around freezing since "winter" started. It's liek living in Vancouver
This is my side yard this afternoon
At least it's bright.

Finally, some winter
In reply to Arawak
I hate winter and winter hates me
In reply to Chrissy
Try 6 weeks of cold and damp.
When I came here in the mid 1980s winter was cold no rass. I mean like -20 in modern degrees.
But you don't feel it like you do when it's just around freezing, and wet. That shite goes right to the soul. Last 10 years that's been mostly what we get now.

I live in the Caribbean for a reason - I do not need winter

Please keep it to yourself
I dont want any of that stuff in my neck of the woods
When I 1st moved to the US that was a thing of beauty
.I could walk around with shorts and T-shirt in blizzard conditions ..I used to fight with my peeps because they wanted the heat on when I wanted the AC blasting..now the tables have turned
I have heat on even in the summer

Nowadays I just love to see it falling..but not to hang around at all.
Don't mind the cold..it's good to rid us of certain viruses but I don't like the shorter
daylight hours.
So far nothing in my neck of the woods in Philly and may set record for no white stuff for January
for the first timer since records have been kept. Good.
I can do without it for sure. But if it comes that's fine too after all its what winter is all about
That said, we are due for at least a 24incher or so in February.

My mother was from Kenora. She said the coldest she ever felt was when she moved to London Ontario to go to University because of the damp. Must be how my dad convinced her to pack up and go to Jamaica

No sah..when I gardening all my cold weather veggies are up and striving well by Earth day
in April....Late May, Illaloo (Callaloo) joins those and and outpace them to the table.
Those were the days until 2021. May do a little this year just for fun.
