HEADLINE: Injustice! Sarwan slams selectors over exclusion of Adams

Former Chairman of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Senior Selection Panel, Ramnaresh Sarwan, has voiced his displeasure over the non-selection of left-arm spinner Antony Adams to the Guyana Harpy Eagles 13-man squad for the first two rounds of the West Indies Four-Day Championship.
“Injustice to a young man who has worked tremendously hard on his game and fitness. Who without any doubt deserve[s] to be in [the] Guyana team,” Sarwan stated Thursday on Facebook in response to the justification the current selection panel gave for Adams’ non-selection.
Sarwan was the man in charge of the selection panel when the GCB Executive took office in March 2021, but had to step down when he was elevated to the West Indies selection panel in January 2022.
Ravindranauth Seeram, a former national coach and player, replaced Sarwan as chair of the GCB panel.

Here are the bowling figures of the trials.
Adams.

Over all he bowl 28 overs 75 runs 6 wks with econ rate 2.67
Nedd
12 ov 72 runs 1wk
10 ov 16 runs 1wk
19 ov 48runs 1wk
Over all 41 overs 136 runs 3 wks economical rate 3.31
They should have just said no comments.
While Nedd is a good young cricketer and base on the results I heard from the YoYo test he has nothing much to be selected ahead of Adams other than youth because he has not met the minimum standards set by CWI.

Ex-Cricketers , Similar to Sarwan , usually pass their opinions....on various issues plaguing West Indies cricket.... when given opportunities to hold post and correct the wrongs...they chicken out on filmsy grounds....Sarwan, a typical hypocrite.... Resigned when he had the power to make changes in right direction.....they are one of the many reasons, why West Indies cricket is in such precarious situation......

Nedd was born in January 2001 and is 22.Adams was born in March 1993 so is 29
Nedd scored 35 on the Yo-Yo test while Adams scored 53.
This is without going into their fielding ability or their bowling records over the past 2-3 years.
Armed with this information along with the above posted by AnthonyP maybe you should be less cavalier.

A 22 year old unfit cricketer with no performance to back up his selection (longer version) vs a 29 year old that easily passed the fitness test and has performances over a number of year to justify his selection.
If you feel his selection is justified then you're no better than the current GCB.

While it might be a co-incidence, the two controversial selectees are both related to administrative people.
One is an Assistant Head Coach's son and the other is a selector's nephew.

Did you see the interview with Pestano? Claiming that a selector told him he will never play for Guyana again as long as he is selector.

I heard pestano missed the fitness test.
All his mates knew about the test except him.
Seeram is a yes man. Too bad sarwan give up the guyana selector job when he had it.

I always say that it is unfair to criticise a selector and suggest someone who should have been selected UNLESS the critic is prepared to say who should NOT have been selected.
