After 84 test innings we have seen enough.
Bye bye Chase. You are on a dimishing returns curve.

Who will replace him? Reefer
In reply to silver
Holder. Let's see how he goes in his new role as spinner.
In reply to Courtesy
the middle order is likely to get some more shielding from early exposure to the new ball but man it's fragile
i can't see too many regionals knocking the door down...i do like Alick Athanaze but he has to get big scores in the 4 day
Carty not moving fawud
In reply to doosra
I'll be looking at regional batsmen who the basics flawlessly.
I will be putting a lower prmium on pure numbers.

I am looking at Athanaze closely
he got 100s in the regional LOs and looking like a 100 against Guyana
In reply to Courtesy
YES. Jason Spinner and Chase Lukewarm. My replacements are going to be Wickham - I get a very promising batsman and also promising leg spinner with good fielding, assuming he continues to perform. Nandu, Athanaze, maybe a few others may have something to say about that. Jason may have a number of suitors - waiting until more matches are played.
But why does Jason look so lazy and going through the motions???? Also not pulling his weight in the batting. Top allrounder?
In reply to Outswinger
Wickham has done nothing yet
Athanaze has been playing a while so he has experience...or did i miss Wickham?
In reply to doosra
Wickham playing his first match... ain't do anything as yet.
Athanaze scoring consistently since the super50.

boy get rid of dat joker....holder need a talking too as well
In reply to doosra
True, but I'm sticking my neck out. I believe he will be in the team within 2 years, based on what I've seen of him. We'll see if my words hold water.
In reply to Outswinger
yea 2 years is a good time
In reply to silver
What about Pooran? He can bowl offspin
I have a feeling Holder will be calling it a day in test cricket soon
In reply to Seechy
yeah.....since he lost the captaincy, he just doesn't have the enthusiasm again......dais what does happen when yuh give ppl things they don't deserve.....they start to see it as a right and not a privilege
In reply to Jumpstart
Holder will bowl about 60 overs in an IPL season and make more than half million US dollars.....you think he is ready to bowl 60 overs in 3 test matches and make 1/5 of that IPL money....fast bowling in test cricket is hard wuk...especially if you are a WI fast bowler....all the top teams are going to bat more than 3 sessions in an innings.
I say pay fast bowlers more money as an incentive to play test cricket
In reply to Narper
I AGREE WITH YOU......which is why i said his enthusiasm left when he lost the captaincy. Holder before his first IPL(where he actually played(he was selected for CSK in 2013 but didn't play a game; his next contract in the IPL was in 2016) was relying on WICB 's smallesse(opposite of largesse lol). To be honest most WI players would ditch test cricket if they got an IPL contract
In reply to Jumpstart
Why not .... Talk numbers:
CWI A contract is $200,000 pa...
IPL let's say $540,000 for 6 weeks..
( 3/4 contracts per year is is less than 18 weeks and probably 5 times an A contract, that means 2 good franchise years is a decade of CWI A contracts)
No comparison
In reply to Blackbird
exactly. Not to mention exposure to other t20 tournaments.......which may not be as well paying as the IPL but still are well paying gigs
In reply to Blackbird
when did it go up to 200k...it was 100k at start of covid i think...even regional contracts were reduced
In reply to doosra
yes they were.....they took a pay cut in the middle of 2020.....i think either just before they went to england or just after
In reply to Jumpstart
raised or cut?
In reply to Seechy
no. them this will stick around. selector buddy buddy. just like this wan 3 more years. and them tek up somebody place
Roston Chase: Grateful for the score, it was a situation where we had to go and push on a bit in the first game but in this game I had an opportunity to go and play at my own pace. Everyone know their strengths and weaknesses. They stick to their game-plans.
total waste meh seh
