I am referring to the American Super Bowl, that was played
last night. It was the very first time that both Quarterbacks in the game were not "White".
For many years in the U.S.A there was a mentality that Afro
American Football Players were devoid of having the mentality
to be Quarterbacks.
I started living in the USA in 1966, at that time there were
no Afro Americans Quarterbacks. It was therefore a pleasure seeing that both Teams Quarterbacks were Afro Americans and
performed well.
Both Quarterbacks played well, and hopefully I hope that their performances has broken the invisible barrier that for
many years had prevented Black Quarterbacks from being selected by U.S.A Professional Football Teams .

Jesse Jackson left Michigan State and went back home and to school in SC because they refused to play him as QB

I watched the game with my closet friend, just he and I.
He being a product of Grambling kept reminding me of the first black quarterback to win the Super Bowl.
Doug Williams went to Grambling and was the quarterback of Washington Redskin in Super Bowl XXII .
I think we are on a good trajectory in terms of soon, people won't even talk about race when it comes to the signal caller position. The likes of Mahomes, Hurts, Fields, Lamar, Russ, Geno Smith are proof positive that teams are trying harder to get the best player for the role.
We've come a long way from guys like Doug Williams and Warren Moon and Randall Cunningham seen as outliers.

You're the first to come out in cc.com. Proud of you.

Next milestone is to have a black headcoach with a black QB, win it all.

The only thing that was missing was Gumbo, he is okay on the grill, but is now learning when water is boiling, his wife of 51 years, died October 2021.
She was also a product of Grambling Tigers.

Once Pittsburg Steelers win, I don't care about colour.

Just one question - where are the Latinos? I read that less than 1% of the NFL identifies as Hispanic.
We'll get onto the Asians later.
