CHAIRMAN of the West Indies men’s selection panel Desmond Haynes said despite Darren Bravo not playing a Test match in over two years he is still in consideration to earn a recall, calling the left-hander a “class act.”

Bravo, 34, last played a Test match for West Indies in December 2020. Bravo was excluded from the West Indies squad for a two-match Test series starting next week.

Batsmen such as Nkrumah Bonner, Raymon Reifer and Kyle Mayers are among those who have been batting in the West Indies middle order over the last two years leaving Bravo on the sidelines.

Haynes said Bravo’s age is not a reason why he will be overlooked.

“We in the Caribbean do not have the luxury to really talk about age is not on someone’s side. If someone is doing well in our competition I think his name must come up for selection.”

Poor Haynes who is confused and doing his best to finish kill West Indies cricket, seems to be saying one thing but does something quite opposite.
No doubt Athanaze deserves to be on the team but why not Bravo too who is our best batsman and has proven that he can score against the best bowlers in the world? Bonner is not my favorite player but he only failed against Australia in the first test where he was bounced. Let’s not forget prior to that he scored a big hundred against England. So if he’s out of form why did they even go to Zimbabwe with him when we all knew Riefer was the one Haynes has been trying to push and convert from a bowling all rounder who bats at # 7 or 8 for Barbados into our number 3 batsman as if to suggest that Barbados is better than West Indies? Haynes even causing strong supporters of West Indies to bow out in shame with his foolishness
