In reply to FanAttick He is a dumb arrogant ass for taking the stand --- I mean he had to be mentally impaired to shoot his wife and son, but even more so for taking the stand, Even if he was innocent.

Not only is the Judge in the Murdaugh case black, but the police officers escorting him around all seem to be black.

Alex Murdaugh juror says it only took 45 minutes to convince 3 holdouts the disgraced lawyer was guilty of murder

I'm willing to bet that this doesn't resonate well in South Carolina, birthplace of the confederacy.

why is this random case a big deal?
As opposed to the any of the other countless murders that takes place daily in the bess in the wurll country?

random? how often a lawyer kills his wife in TT or any other place for that matter?

Same prosecutor sent the cop who shot Mr. Scott in his back to prison.
Often wondered what happened to the black cop who planted the gun beside Scott's body.
I hope the guy who did the vid got a new identity

Same SC that elected Nikki Haley as governor.

Must be a terrible life and burden to make everything about race.

Followed this case from beginning to end. The man's a despicable diabolical monster.

Lead prosecutor was a boss, and the one that did the closing he really brought it home with a serious dose of basic logic and perspective , who wasn't sure would've been sure after that.

The whole family seems to be a rotten entitled bunch .

Five deaths have been linked to them in the last six years in one way or another...from Paul's boat crash that killed Mallory Beech, to the young gay fellow in the middle of the road, to the housekeeper to Maggi and Paul.

Seeing that your move to Florida isn't working out, you should try South Carolina.

Father and son got what's coming...a few years back the son killed a girl in a drunken driving boating accident and he got away with it..

Karma got him good.

man reading this and now learn the son who was in court
everyday was kicked out of law school for plagiarism!
What a set, moving from 3 generations of prosecutors to this.
Wonder how many innocents those 3 generations railroaded?

You'll like this Washington Examiner's article on Judge Clifton Newman.

Murdaugh judge’s own legal story unfolded in South Carolina

Judge Clifton Newman, a South Carolina native who attended racially segregated schools in the 1950s and 1960s, addressed Murdaugh directly during roughly 20 minutes of comments that ranged from invoking the memories of the defendant’s slain son Paul and wife Maggie to lamenting what he described as attacks on the credibility of the state’s justice system during the trial. He noted that Murdaugh came from a prominent family of lawyers in the area and that a portrait of his grandfather, a former prosecutor, once hung in the courthouse where he was tried – until Newman had it removed to promote a fair trial.

Rich southern lawyer with generations of lawyers before him in a small town. Add a black judge talking down to him in the racist south - The perfect circus. The better question is why did this get coverage on Jamaican radio and television.
