Until we learn to identify the real problems. Right now we are attempting to solve a consequence of the problems. And that main problem is: a lack of fundamentals.
We need academies and competent coaches who can impart the technical skills to our very young batsmen.
Our decision makers have failed us for too long and even more depressing, there is no end in sight.

He is some kind of batting mentor which itself is in itself a ridiculous decision. And clearly shows our brainstrust haven't gotten their priorities right.

Iwould say a reflection of the ineptness of our decison makers. If anything, one can consider Jimmy as a test batting coach and even then, BARELY.

I have deliberately stayed away from the issue today because I have made my point and laid the stats for everyone to see succinctly enough.

My point is that let the game play out..If you take away the 2 innings from Markram and de Zorzi there is nothing between the teams…
So give the guys a chance …I’m not saying they are world beaters but this team has done reasonably well over the past 24 months….they are punching above their weight..
It’s not the 1st time WI have struggled in South Africa…better WI teams have struggled in those conditions against their attack….
The incessant negativity is tiresome…it’s not like we have world class players waiting in the wings…

yes and was coach of WI under 19 and also technical director of JA cricket but his persona is not one that i would immediately associate with hands-on coaching, especially a batting coach. manager or technical director yes if you get the distinction
