Congrats dowrich
Indeed. Up and on
But he really cannot keep, he should make the team only as batsman if and when he's recalled
In reply to Brerzerk
Better batsman than both Reifer and Chase.
In reply to Brerzerk
Leave Dow where he is please
In reply to mikelegend
Potentially better batsman than every single one in the present team.
Lovely to watch when on the go. Just needs to handle the short ball
He should never be asked to keep for WI ever again. Better standard needed.
Top 5 bat
In reply to Brerzerk
Better keeper than DaSilva

I was thinking about you when Dowrich scored his ton, and he and Chaim embrace, UOW should be proud.
In reply to openning
Yuh done know
In reply to Leggully
Youre drunk
..go home. Next youll probably say dowrich is a better bat than Darren bravo who scored centuries in both innings against the same opponents
In reply to mikelegend
..and Blackwood, Mayers and DaSilva!
In reply to velo
Good ton indeed,
In reply to velo
..you are right. Keeor, whatever that is.

Ok Jumpy so what criteria are you using to conclude that DaSilva is a better Keeper than Dowrich, I dont want to get into a big debate about two very average keepers where there is not much difference in their keeping abilities, however IMO looking at both of them Dowrich is the better keeper, and he also the better batsman. As a matter of fact 2-3 years ago we would not even be having this conversation because DaSilva keeping has improve over the last couple of years while Dowrich has deteriorated
I am not advocating that Dowrich should be in the test team because mentally he is not ready for international cricket and one or two good knocks does not make him ready.
I do not post regularly but on the D Bravo issue, a few weeks ago I posted no WI team in any format should leave the Caribbean without D Bravo
In reply to Leggully
Homie da Silva took 7catches in an innings just last week. We know that dowrich cannot keep, despite being one of the better batsmen available. Looked woeful in England and was even worse in NZ.
if Dowrich has a good season with the bat, I would consider him for a top order batting spot. Until his problems in England, I had considered him one of the better batsmen on the team and I think he was highly ranked as a keeper/batsman as well. Since WI have no intention of giving Devon Thomas a chance to play tests, we may as well start thinking of Dowrich as potentially the back up keeper and middle order batsman.
In reply to Not Dinas
not to make any excuses for Dow but his dad was going thru some medical issues during those periods and eventually Dow had to leave the Eng tour because his dad was hospitalised
Tarnish has worked hard at his batting and keeping and if Dow is to find a place in the test team it would be as a batsman. some will say he has issues with the short ball, it is true, as it is true about 99% of the present WI batsmen
for the moment leave Dow where he is to build back his confidence

I hate to join these stupid arguments.
First, a keeper can only take 7 catches if the batsmen edge 7 or more balls.
So the number of dismissals is a non-starter.
If anything, count the number of missed-chanches to his discredit.
Both Dowrich and Dasilva are average keepers.
Second, Dowrich performance in Hingland and Kiwiland do not count.
The kid was under mental pressure from family illness.
Who here would concentrate, with an ailing parent, while being away?
Remember Lara left a contract in hingland to go home to see family.
Remember Grandmama faked a family death to go home.
Some of you here don't have a clue!!!
Please look up psychology or SHUT DE HELL UP!!!!
Enuff said on dat point.
Dowrich made Wondies team as a batter versus a very string Ozzies team.
Bottom line.
Dasilva has done enuff to retain his spot as keeper.
Dowrich has done enuff to make team as a batsman.
He is way ahead the likes of
Bonner, Reifer, Mayers, Chase (presently), Blackwood and Devon Thomas.
Whether he gets selected or not may have more to do with his lawsuit than his ability.
In reply to sudden
Agreed, I would actually pass the keeping off to young Rivaldo Clarke and let Dowrich relieve the pressure of keeping. Just focus on scoring runs.
In reply to Jumpstart
Mate 7catches in an innings thats the criteria, if Brooks was behind the stumps substituting he probably would have taken all 7 they were that straight forward
Ben Foakes England best keeper and one of the better keepers in the world who plays all of his FC cricket in England has problems keeping in England because the ball swings after it passes the stumps, many foreign Keepers have the same problem in England and New Zealand. At that time I dont Dowrich was not in a good place mentally.
But as I said before this is non debate because they are both average keepers
I dont think he should play purely as a batsman he is not good enough , if he plays he takes the gloves, IMO we need to stop this bits and pieces cricketers thing and play cricketers for what they are. We need to get back to playing 5 specialist batsman an allrounder a keeper and 4 bowlers.
In reply to TanteMerle
I couldn't have said it better the only thing I disagree with is he playing purely as a batsman although he is better bat than most of our middle order
Dowrich ,like Bonner is scared of pace bowling, who is in the attack that he made this 100 against?
Remember Grandmama faked a family death to go home.
In both instances these players lied!

In reply to velo
Should make the team as a waterboy
In reply to Leggully
which is exactly what I'm saying.....dowrich drops straightforward chances......like courtney browne. His first tour of england was bad, but i said, the ball moves in the air quite a bit in england and those conditions would have been new to him. ok cool. back in England in 2020, again he misses and drops straightforward catches. He looked incompetent on two tours of NZ in addition to being petrified of neil wagner....he and sunil ambris looked the worse.

I don't know what the Barbadians cricketers done to you, your dislike for them show more about you, than the cricketers you blew hate at daily.
In reply to openning
so every time somebody points out a fault, technial or mental about bajan cricketers, it means that ppl don't like them.......bajan players don't play only for barbados, they're members of the WI team and therefore open to critical analysis by the entire region
In reply to Jumpstart
hey man, criticising any bajan cricketer is ok in my books once it is merited, and the truth of the matter is that most of it is.
but be prepared to take it when Tits are criticised equally
In reply to sudden
Jump, leaves that part up to Barry.
In reply to Jumpstart
When you start doing the same to Trinies, and not worship them as if they are Lara or Holding . then lets talk.
In reply to Brerzerk
you neither cause you need to KEEP quiet.
