Maybe some of you more accomplished and distinguished intellectuals can explain to me why it seems like almost every time I run into or converse with some of dese big hard-back West Indian people (usually men) they always running off dem mouth about how many degrees they have, which schools they attended, when they met the Queen, how well their children are doing or how much money they making? I mean, who gives a flying fork?! I usually stop dem dead in they tracks with just a snippet of my background and they jump back 10 feet and shut dem mouths then.

I am all for talking about the stock market, politricks and business etc, but it just seems to be a constant pissing contest with some of dese men. We can do better. Geze.

DukeStreet I will go on the other side of your opinion. Love to hear or read about our WI people who have had achievements, whatever their field of exploits. Too often we are denegrated as lazy, no intelligence, most likely to be criminals etc. I have quite a bit of admiration when I hear or read about “our people “ making positive contributions.

I think some on here don't quite understand what I'm trying to convey. It's always good to hear about our accomplishments and good deeds. I am not talking about that. I am talking about the certain ones who like to try shoving things down your throat as soon as they meet you. There is a massive difference in humble contributions vs pompous grandiosity. Would you not agree?
