In reply to mikelegend
Somebody to field for him?
In reply to Barry
Cariah giving away the runs that Cornwall cant field
However, at least Big Corn could bang a few over the fence to make up
In reply to mikelegend
Cornwall must never play for the West Indies again

Jimbo really needs to lose weight, not only in terms of his career, but more importantly his health. I believe he can shed those pounds if he really puts the effort in. This is what is keeping him from reaching his full potential. It is not fair to others on the team to have to chase a ball because he isn't fit enough to do so. I am still grateful that he was given the chance to play for the West Indies.

My deepest respect for everyone here on this site, but that is a most unnecessary statement. There is no place for that on this site. Further, saying such things and hiding behind an anonymous profile where you cannot be seen or compared to a whale is most cowardly.

I am not anonymous. Who are you anyway? Do you live in Canada? Do yu have avatars.
Motie is number 1 and must play- I changed my mind and i am not insular.
In reply to Barry
Cariah was never ready.
He was lucky to get selected in the first place. He did make the most (for him) of his selection so kudos to him for that. But everyone had zero expectations for him so anything that he did would have been a plus.
Hopefully the Cariah experiment aka shot in the dark
..is over and they bring in players like Fabian Allen, Motie, Cornwall, etc
Good that they trying to invest in a leg spinner, but Cariah isnt the one. I know the temptarion is that he can also bat
..but first and foremost he needs to be effective with the ball. Didnt think they could drop him after his first set of international appearances which were encouraging. But weve seen enough now to know that what we all suspected is real. Hes not internarional standard.

I don't speak Guyanese as yet- What is a mammoo?
In reply to velo
He hasnt had many opportunities has he?
Hes likely the best off spinner playing red ball cricket in the region
He actually turns the ball
He takes wickets
Many of the others are slow bowlers. Theres a difference.
I agree that WI probably needs to re-think the Cariah experiment although I believe that he is a solid player but how much did he bowl for Trinidad in previous years? I think he was no more than a part time bowler with Khan doing the bulk of the leg spin bowling. i have absolutely no difficulty with both Hosein and Motie playing together for ODIs. Hosein is very good at the start of the innning and Motie is excellent in the middle. WE have no difficulty playing 2 right arm fast medium bowlers so what is the difficulty with playing 2 left arm slow bowlers when both are actually pretty good. This SA series has shown yet again the importance of having bowlers who can take wickets rather than bowlers who we think can bat. With all the T20 cricket internationally, all teams have fairly strong batting line ups, i.e. men who can score quickly when needed, so thinking that we can pack a team with batsmen and "allroundes" does not work any more.

Maybe but I have followed another leg spinner in Adam Zampa he did not remotely trouble batsmen a for more than a few years. But he learned and is a key wicket taker for OZ. I think maybe we need to invest in a short format leg spinner maybe it's Cariah or Motie can develop into an all format left orthodox
