When will diabetes learn to bowl and bat?
His bat is never straight always aiming for cow corner. Has this guy ever cover driven a ball for four?
This man coulda never play cricket.

Bish says Odean Smith is still learning his craft.
Bish is very diplomatic!!
In reply to Courtesy
One would hope he is still learning....but the evidence suggests otherwise...
In reply to Courtesy
A very slow learner. It's as if he is running a 100 metre dash. SMH.
In reply to Courtesy
yes Bish said that, but! does he not realize it is embarrassing to continue making these excuses, Smith has been around for years and there is no growth in the skill level and in his mental strength
Odean's ODI bowling average is 27.71, and excepting for AlJo, less than any other bowler participating in this WI/Saffie series.
AlJo: 27.00
Cariah: 62.00
Hosein: 29.56
JHo: 37.03
Mayers: 29.77
Odean: 27.71

7 ODIs and bowled 31 overs...6 wickers with 32 ave...ER 6.22
ave just over 4 overs per match....
Stats
Ave 27 with the bat with SR 170....much more potential here

Actually, Odean is slotted as a batting allrounder. It amazes me that he batted at #10 during yesterday's game. Coming in to bat at that point only leaves one with the swinging option.
In reply to all who posted
Odean Smith is not as half as good as Franklin Rose and not a quarter of Bernard Julian.
That's how low we have fallen.

more importantly, is he better than Shepherd? or Drakes? or even Greaves? or Primus? In ODIs average per wicket is less important than economy rate. The problem is that no captain will bowl Odean for 10 overs. If he is a batting allrounder, why is he coming in at No 9? Will any captain ever bat him at Nos. 3-5?
In reply to Courtesy
That is the reality.
So those with a lil potential needs nurturing....the cupboard bare bare....
However..the bottom line is the players must want to get better...must not be satisfied with where they are...
In my opinion Smith is not getting better...even after playing in the IPL ...rubbing shoulders with best players and experiencing top class professional support systems there
In reply to Drapsey
Stop talking sheet
In reply to Courtesy
BTW, I'm not a fan of Odean Smith.
In reply to PalsofMine
I was wondering what is the value of bowling average when economy rate is more meaningful indicator of efficiency, especially in a scenario when Odean's best bowling figures in ODI are 2/29.
Some fellas go to great lengths...

In the CPL...Amazon Warriors used him up the order..

Yep.
Puncheon talking- bat he arse at 3 after failing at 9

BTW, I don't pay much attention to Averages either. We leave that to Devin.
Reminds me of his namesake, Dwayne Smith.
Ocean Smith deserves criticism and should be dropped
Anyone has the stats before and after he was "benched" by The Lard?
If Odean Smith is picked on any West Indies side again, then it still a sad story of the incompetence of our selectors.
Every international team knows now that he is diabetes.
..............
Cariah is now on a watchlist.

You just hit on one of Smith's problems - lengths
Does Odean Smith have an IPL contract/
I would love to see him play in this year's IPL.
In reply to Drapsey
His stats may be decent for an allrounder, but he has a lot of work to do if he wants to be a permanent fixture in the ODI setup. He needs to work on bowling economy, no ball issues, and batting time instead of trying to lash everything.
In reply to Seechy
Tough on the batting allrounder when he comes in at #10.
In reply to Drapsey
Odean averages 41.5 at 10 in ODIs
try again

In reply to doosra
Ok, I'll think of something else.
I just think that we're too tough on Odean. His batting that is.
In reply to Drapsey
For me, this is true because I expect more from him...I do believe he can do better with bat and ball.
Odean Smith is NOT a better batsman than Romario Shepherd. NEITHER of them are good bowlers in the early powerplay or at the death
In my opinion Keemo Paul is better than both of them
