In the the mold of Trump, Bolsonaro and Orban and under the guise of democracy, he is slowly (some may even say rapidly) getting the law, security and judicial elements to do his bidding. Today he had his leading political opponent, Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi sentenced to two years in prison in a criminal defamation case.

Democracy is under sustained attack across the world, as leaders like those mentioned above play the ethnic and/or religious card to their advantage.
