Can the Brave repeat or will there be too much heat from the work burning in the fields?

Champs 2023. Come Eeen Royal Dad.
In reply to Headley
I was wondering what took you guys so long
In reply to rudebway
I have been busy dealing with other matters and cannot follow the meets as closely as I would in the past. It seems like KC is favoured but JC and Cbar are not far behind.
The results of the Corporate Area Meet have excited the less knowledgeable fans but the insiders know those results are very misleading if deeper analysis of which athletes participated in which events is not done. We will see.
I think next year when Cbar flexes both KC and JC will be in trouble, but that is next year.
In reply to Headley
Man, I was wondering your whereabouts.
Honestly think we can repeat even though some injuries have caused concern.
May have enough in the tank to thwart the boys in blue who look well stocked.
In reply to Headley
I think the thought on the ground is that Fortis should prevail. Will be looking to see how fast Bouwagie can go. He destroyed Daley last week. Its like they shoot him out of a gun. Daley looked off. Calabar is reloading
On the girls side that will be exciting. I think Hydel know its their time. The twins are gone from Edwin Allen, so Hydel can probably take it this year. Excited that Serena cole will get her chance. And back to Hydel, their purchasing division is in full swing. I was watching the carifta trials and I see they acquired Camoy Binger from jago. She looked flat at carifta but has a year to fix it.
In reply to RoyalDad
I am still above ground but busy. Busy or not I have to discuss Champs this weekend. Yuh know how it is.
I feel confident that we have what it takes to keep JC and Cbar at bay. The injuries seem to be sorted. Nicholas Francis is good and so is Brown who who was second in class 3 boys 200m last year and is now in class 2. Not sure about Benjamin the class 3 100/200m sprinter. Hope he is good because the class 3 is not deep this year.
Coach is keeping Taj M. White in cotton wool. He did not participate at CARIFTA Trials. If he is fully fit the class 2, boys 400m and 200m will be exciting.
JC has a very weak class 3 and Cbar has the same problem in class 1.
In reply to rudebway
Daley is running ok. It's just that Bouwagjie has the finish this year which was missing last year up to Champs. Cbar will be deadly next year. Corey Bennett has good procurement skills.
I expect Cole will dominate the 100m but she has a fight for the long jump this year. Hydel has Binger and another girl both taken from Jago and ineligible to represent Hydel this year. As I said before, Corey Bennett has good procurement skills.
I am very excited to see the result of the Rickiann Russell vs McAnuff 400m result and whether they can erase the long standing 51.61 record.
Who is the Ferncourt coach? It is obvious that Ferncourt has a very good sprint coach. I am seeing good results, male and female in the 100, 200 and 400m and I know he/she could not afford to buy that talent.
In reply to Headley
Fervet Opus in Campis!
Edwin Allen to win the Girls?
In reply to Headley
Excellent analysis. Not sure if you saw the semis of the 100. Daley stayed in the blocks while everyone was gone. Then had to fly to catch up to make it to the finals.
And back to Camoy binger. I said she has a year to fix it. That means I know she is ineligible this year lol. Not sure how I forgot about that juicy 400. That will be a race. Rickiann looks unbeatable . Holmwood and all the Manchester / Christiania massive and crew we will be celebrating.
Come on Munro. It is our time!
In reply to nitro
Come on Knox. We want at least 5 points. During the long breaks When the stadium announcer is reading out the standing from 20th place to 1st place, lets hear our name. Tired of hearing of schools I didnt know existed to rahtid. Fogga Road High.

In reply to Headley
I do not know. Ferncourt has always had decent talent. While trying to find the answer to your question in google, I ran into an article that says along with Camoy Binger, Hydel also procured Abbigail Campbell from Ferncourt. I tell you
In reply to rudebway
In my time we were in top 5 on first day due to field events.
In reply to mikesiva
Fervet or more likely Cbar next year.
Close between Edwin and Hydel this year but Edwin is deeper.
In reply to rudebway
Thanks. Yes I saw the race. Daley is the real deal. If he gets a good start it will be tight between himself and Bouwahjgie. Could be sub 10 if the wind is right.
I love the 400m so the Russell vs McEnuff race is a special highlight for me.
In reply to rudebway
As I said before, Corey Bennett has good procurement skills.

In reply to Headley
So far so good.
Any surprises?
But wary of the boys in blue.
In reply to RoyalDad
No surprises so far. No finals on the first day so it's just about qualifying.
By end of day the 1500m and 100m finals will be completed. There will be a lot to assess.
Ainsley Campbell (affectionately known as Pencil ) ran the 1500m prelims yesterday morning and had the 3rd fastest time. He came back in the evening to win his steeplecase heat.
I am hoping his legs can cope with the 1500m finals this afternoon. It's a quick turnaround and the competition is fierce. I am sure he has been well prepared. One of the twin brothers (Gianni I believe) did the same double last year. By Friday afternoon he should be good for the steeplechase final.
In reply to RoyalDad
Pencil ketch dem in the 1500m to ratid!
In reply to Headley
We are in many finals. Looking up..
Have to catch up with action.Busy at work.
Taj looks easy and relaxed in 400.
Class 3 boys doubled up for finals.

Good day so far. Waiting to see if Bou will take it below the 10.08 in the semis.

In reply to Headley
That was a scintillating run by him. Closed the show with a bang. Sub 10. Entire stadium got what they wanted. Alania Reids performance was also jaw dropping. I dont know why to say.
In reply to mikesiva
smile
Lol. Luckily we can cheer for him, unlike the Kenyans. I think holmwood also has two African girls that they imported.
In reply to mikesiva
Northern St. Elizabeth. Near the origin of the Black River.
Where are Smith Band, Uroy Ryan, Jalen Reid, Le Bron James, Nellie Ambriton, Jenevieve John, Kareem Solomon, Deshaun Fannis and 20 more from?

In reply to rudebway
I hope you noticed that it was Pencil from KC who won the 1500m and not Bygrave the pre race favourite from JC. Seems the Africans are teaching KC boys to run long distance. JC and Cbar should be very afraid.
Let's see what happens in the steeple tomorrow.
In reply to nitro
No disrespect Nitro because I'm from St Bess but Munro left us in the fifties.

In reply to Headley
Yes. I did notice that Bygrave got crushed. That was a great strategic race by the KC #2 pencil
In reply to Headley
I was there when long man Zele jumped the 7 feet high jump mark.
Now another phenom dropped below the 10sec barrier,1st ever.
The standard is set.
In reply to RoyalDad
Yes. Bouwaghjie's place in history as the first sub ten Junior is secured.
In reply to Headley and rudebway

The suspense is left in the girl's race only.
It's a bit early to consider next year but it has been allocated to C'bar
JC may with some time to spare consider 2025.
In reply to Headley
Congrats!
Girls will be tight. I think Hydel will get over the hump this year
In reply to mikesiva
Vere Technical stop entering champs?
In reply to nitro
No Vere didnt stop, but their glory days of the 80s and 90s are over. Following Vere was the Holmwood dynasty followed by the current Edwin Allen dynasty
In reply to mikesiva
Race is tight.
Thought KC would romp, but boys in Blue hanging.
Congrats KC - dis done
In reply to Headley
Agreed.!!!
Boys romping.
Girls will come down to the last two races - gwan Edwin
Grenadian kid won the boys' decathlon ..think he set a new record too? 6969 points - Isaiah Patrick.
In reply to Cheeks
Great to see kids from all over the region and Africa in JA schools.
Edwin may be in trouble on the line and lose 12 points
Congrats Hydel. Great leadership of this relatively young school. Fantastic.
Munro to take the boys champ next year!
Looks like Hydel by two points over Edwin Allen- first time win for Hydel.
279 to 277. That disqualification cost Edwin big time.
CBar DQd for 4x 4
In reply to Chrissy
Cbar lions in big trouble. Now have to contend with the boys in Blue for 2nd going forward.
KC still deep.
COngrats to Hydel.
In reply to Chrissy

5) St Catherine - 116
Another successful campaign. Congrats to Hydel. They will be hard to dislodge. Did I mention that Corey Bennett is a good coach and a better procurement expert?
This one proves again that experts are always fighting the last war. As I said at the start.
KC did not double up (use athletes in more than one event) and rested some athletes completely at the Corporate Area Meet. Men who call themselves experts then used the results of that meet to claim that Champs would be close.
Next year is likely to be close based on the movement of Class 1 athletes. C'bar will be a lot stronger. What KC, JC and C'bar gain in Class 3 next year could be the deciding factor. Did I mention that Corey Bennett is a good coach and a better procurement expert?

NB For those who are casual readers. Corey Bennett is the coach of the girls Hydel team and the boys C'bar team.
In reply to Headley
Is Corey related to the owner of Hydel?
In reply to XDFIX
Corey is her son.
In reply to Chrissy
That disqualification cost Edwin big time.
Such a rookie mistake.
In reply to Headley
Could not believe it bro.
In reply to Headley
In reply to Headley
Congrats on the clinical performance by KC. Most finals Saturday seemed to have two purple shirts. But question. Do you have any or care to share any thoughts on the incident with the KC athlete who was kicked out for assaulting the calabar athlete but later reinstated?
Don Wehby was talking about not being associated with violence, but I doubt Grace would pull its sponsorship.
In reply to Headley
Yes. Our class 1 will suffer most of all.
Sadly, Kerr could not compete. Another blight on our management of athletes in their final year. How often have we suffered because of this. The list goes on and on.
Taj copped the double. His motion is effortless.
Calabar has to make up 160 points.
JC just 65 or so.
Good to see a better spread of the points by other schools.
But at the end of the day, Purple rule. From when I was going there, our corner has always been to the right of the finish line. Our crowd support is unequalled.
Next year we have to start the discussion earlier.
And yes, Oral got it wrong. Obviously looking at wrong track meet to gauge his decision. Can forgive him for this.... this time.
