What a difference a Captain make
In reply to LBW375
Congrats to the skipper indeed
In reply to LBW375
Plainly a leader

Not only good captaincy but the guys look like they are pulling for each other, so the team moral seems good as well.
Listen people
WE WINNNNNNNNN!!!!

I think that is the biggest key to good captaincy. Motivating your guys to rally round you. Also being confident enough to take on their input. Often the best captain is not the beat tactician but the one who can maximize resources
yea, seems Powell has something about him.
In reply to LBW375
So Poorman wasnt nubodi?
In reply to Logic
We would not have won any match under Pooran
maybe he should win some more?
sh!thound fans
In reply to Raggs
Seems so.Wish him continued success
In reply to Hendra
How you know that? You see it in your balls - crystal or otherwise?

In reply to Barry
What balls?
In reply to Hendra
Let's just accentuate the positives for now
In reply to Barry
Man, dem think yuh easy
In reply to imusic
dirty, shrunken balls
In reply to Hendra
Even Poorman would have won

pooran wasn't captaincy material.....i always said he looked drained as a player when he was cappo. some people are born for it and some just cannot be leaders....no shame if you don't have that gift
In reply to Jumpstart
Dont agree
Sometimes it is all about luck
In reply to sudden
nah.....pooran was not captaincy material. glorious batsman when the mood takes him but you can't perform if you question whether you can handle the responsibility of leading a region as disparate as ours, whether you'll be able to motivate your players to do their best.
In reply to Jumpstart
Damn sh!tty region
.
There is still a lot of questions about his captaincy. We shouldhave the series 3-0. The captain has to learn to think on his feet when one of your main bowlers is getting lash about the place he has to hide him . In the game we lost , he overbowled Housein and Smith and mever used Mayers who is a good bowler. In this match he did the same thing again ie continue bowling bowlers who are getting lash about
Nurse and Shepherd should not have bowled more than 3 overs each. They had figures of 4 overs for 43 and 44 respectively. While Cotterel bowled only 3 overs for 24 runs.again Mayers who is usually economical was never tried. They left out Alzari in match 2 which we lost . Alzari won this match for them
The entire management team needs firing.
In reply to kazakman
but how de heck you could post such decent analysis as you run up like Mikey Holding
and then let go a wild wuffless EXTRA WIDE NO BALL with that crap at the end?
Like OSHANE??
HOW bro?
you flattered to deceive.

On what grounds was Alzari Joseph omitted in match 2 it was a management decision.
Smith should never be included in any of the matches

Maybe a similar reason to why Njorte was omitted from the 2nd match on the SA side.

You just had to crap on a winning thread eh.
Selection is at the heart of the West Indian win not racist notions of captainceee
In reply to kazakman
Rotating players perhaps? How would you explain SA leaving out Nortje for the second T20?
In reply to LBW375
Congrats indeed. This is the first time I have traveled outside the Caribbean to watch WI play and seen a victory. I will reserve judgment on Rovman as captain though. His field setting during that second T20 had me scratching my head a few times.
west indians does mek me laugh for real don't lnow when to just accept a victory and not go overboard
In reply to Walco
hoss when one of your bowlers effortlessly leaking runs, yuh thought process must get scrambled
In reply to Walco
You were in SA? Respeck
Glad you got to experience a WI series victory
In reply to LBW375
Was wondering the same thing.
In reply to Walco
Field setting 101, no one can set field to bad bowling.
In reply to Walco
Same reason we left out Joseph.
In reply to LBW375
Congratulations also goes to the new Coach.

What jibbish. When WI lose they get a pounding from same people. Relax yourself

As I commented elsewhere its always reassuring when your captain is capable of contributing more to the team than just spinning the toss and clapping!

Some years ago I recall there were a lot of expectations about the XLCR player Senior. What has become of him?
In reply to Headley
Which one?
The older one, a contemporary of Braithwiate, Campbell et al,- and a West Indies U19 player- gave up cricket apparently because of some internal politics in the JA cricket set up. Last I heard, he was the head coach of Wolmer's Boys School.
Raewin, the younger brother, got a scholarship to UWI Mona and is in the process of completing his degree. Apart from being a talented cricketer (and JA U17 football representative) he is also a gifted student.
Much is expected of him.
In reply to jacksprat
Thanks. I believe it was Raewin. Getting a degree may be the best thing to do before trying to make a career out of cricket.
I hope it works for him. I may be biased but I believe the Ja and WI teams benefit from having university graduates on the teams.
