What's All This Substitutes And Impact Players
In reply to Raggs
Another reason to get more Indian players involved and minimize the foreign players role!
In a tactical move borrowed from team sports such as basketball and football, teams in this years IPL will be able to make a substitution to the playing 11.
In another first for cricket, players will be allowed to review wide and no-ball decisions made by umpires using the Decision Review System (DRS).
New rules
ok lads, look for this to be introduced in t20 internationals

Total bullshit! Those other sports dont have a limit on foreign players AFAIK!

In reply to StumpCam
Yes they do. Take off the UScentric blinders.

I haven't been following this IPL closely...today its Good Friday holiday in Canada so I am watching.
I noticed the substitutes in today's game are not all Indian players
Heinrich Klaasen, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mayank Markande, Mayank Dagar, Marco Jansen
Lucknow Super Giants Subs:
Ayush Badoni, Swapnil Singh, Daniel Sams, Prerak Mankad, Avesh Khan
In reply to Narper
Don't forget there's a limit of 4 foreign players.
In reply to Overthrow
You should open your eyes and realize that Pro Sports in America is not UScentric!
In reply to StumpCam
You made a general statement which is absolutely incorrect. View or follow sports in countries outside the U.S. Your intelligence would be broadened with respect to foreign players on a team.
In reply to Overthrow
So, there is 1 pro sports (soccer) other than cricket worth watching outside the United States and that makes my view narrow!
In reply to StumpCam
Makes your statement invalid.

Franchise cricket has absolutely nothing to do with the ICC.
If Franchise cricket wants to allow pelting then there is nothing ICC could do about it.If they want to make the pitch 24 yards or 20 yards then that is fine.
People who are banned by the ICC can still play franchise cricket.
Hope that clears that up for you.
In reply to Dukes
Indeed it does. the circus is allowed to showcase their clowns without interference
A team can have a foreign player sub, if they have picked only 3 foreign players in the starting team. Maybe that us why you will see foreign players in the sub list.
In reply to Raggs
Does anyone know when this match fixing shitfest ends and real cricket begins?
In reply to Dukes
IF?

I've looked at a few the matches. And most the impact players substations haven't done all that well really. But I think it's really a way to get more Indian players a look in.
But it's their sport. Hope I don't see the BCCI sorry ICC bringing those in.

For goodness sakes dont you guys realize that these types of innovations in this licket tournament are just new ways for the Mindian bookies to spot fix the matches?
Watch next year they come up with some other Mickey Mouse crap where 2 bowlers bowl one over and the captain gets to decide how many balls each bowler gets.
Yall can be this gullible?
