Jamaica's triple jumper Jaydon Hibbert today leapt 17.87m to break the 38-year-old outdoor world junior record of 17.50m as well as the American college record at the SEC Champs in the US. The March jump of 17.54m from the 18-y-o University of Arkansas student was done indoors.

that young man is an absolute boss. He was in disbelief when he made a massive jump in Cali last year at the world u20. This youth is the real deal.

Up to CARIFTA he was jumping off a short run of 12 steps that he used indoors. I don't know as yet, but I suspect the 17.87m was off a longer run.
Some folks get upset when I mention that he is not just an athlete. He is a student athlete.
