Looks like the 4 bowlers who will bowl 10 each are:
Holder
Chase
Joseph
Hosein
Paul and Mayers are the allrounders sharing the other 10?

WI bowling ...
In reply to Kay
We missed Cariah.
Both Cariah and Motie sidelined by injuries ... so this is what we are left with foe now at least
if Holder is playing, I would share overs between Holder, Mayers and Paul. Holder tends to be tight in early overs and then gets some stick in his later overs. It could just be the periods during the match in which he bowls but he never looks like he threatens to take wickets when they start going after him. I would try Mayers between overs 30 and 45 to see if he can have an impact as we need someone who will take wickets when batsmen try to go after him to keep them honest.
If we considering the bowling, we should look at the fact that we gave USA 13 wides, which is two extra overs. Against a better batting team, if we are defending what may not have even been a par score, that would not have something that we want to happen. I think that overall, the bowling needs a little more work than the batting. We know that at least King will come good and the form batsmen of Pooran, Hope and Charles all contributed and we still have Shepherd in the wings.
Why is Chase even playing?
In reply to Kay
You can't depend on Chase to bowl 10 overs,in most games he will get in trouble!

Watched Chase in the last match and to me he was trying his best to hide the ball from the batsmen... either darting it into their pads or aiming for just inside the wide line... that's negative bowling... De man looking to buy wickets.
Hosein on the other hand was attacking the stumps and hitting good areas consistently... Yes, at times you could try to hide the ball but not throughout your 10 overs spell... Hopefully Cariah recovers soon, or they could call up young Sinclair, both of them attack the stumps more.
any update on Cariah?
In reply to Seechy
I would rather play him than you.

Chase is the best-experienced batting all-rounder and spinner the West Indies have presently.
BTW, the West Indies will eventually discard who you guys are pushing to replace him when they start holding some licks by the top
teams, the way they eliminated Bishoo and Walsh from WI cricket. Remember those two?
WI cricket always had a problem selecting spin bowlers for the team, even before and after Lloyd gave up the captaincy.
Very few were a permanent fixture in WI cricket
because MOST OF THEM could not bat to save a match.
That Nepal can bowl out USA for 207 yet they scored more runs against us and we still couldn't bowl them out is quite disturbing.
Our point man Joseph was wayward and went for runs. With his pace, if he was more accurate, he could have easily added 2 or 3 more wickets to his tally.
In the match against Nepal, there needs to be more discipline in both bowling and batting.....and I believe it will happen. We should have a more comprehensive victory over the Nepalese.
Zimbabwe's main batters are in prime form so it will be quite a hurdle to go past them but by the time we meet them, we should hopefully have it all together and overcome them.

Nepal bowled out USA for 207 and then took 43 overs to reach the score.
AGAINST USA at 90/5 in 20 overs in reply to WI it was all over early,,,,WI was under no pressure to bowl out USA knowing full well their bottom FIVE couldnt score 200 in 30 overs.
Nepal is not coming with no powerful batting lineup against the WI BOWLING with both Holder Paul and Hosein bowling well.
My prediction is if Nepal bat first WI will bowl them out under 200
What has changed since the last qualfiers?
In my opinion the WI ALTHOUGH RANKED 11 behind Bang and Afghan, have recently done well against SA in SA (RANKED 6tH) and are more consistently scoring near 300 or 300 scores.
Last tournament no team scored 300 against WI and I SUSPECT THIS WILL BE THE CASE AGAIN.
Last tournament HOLDER AND ROACH were our best bowlers with 15wks @ 21 Econ 4.80 and 11 wkts @ 20 Econ 4.74 respectively.
This time around our bowling looks even stronger with the addition of Akeal Hosein.
Note last time around AFGHANISTAN won the qualifying tournament beating WI in the finals due to their powerful spin attack....their batting however was weak although they spun out WI twice and beat them...they suffered losses to Scotland and Hong Kong in the qualifiers.
As I predicted. Nepal struggling to make 200 runs

But we should have closed out this game by now. We just lack this killer instinct
In reply to analyst-kid
You said they wouldn't score 200 but they've done so
In reply to Kay
The fielding is making the bowling look much worse than it is tbh

You best post!

That's the problem.. lost Motie replaced by a batter, lost Cariah no replacement, so the spin is down by 2 specialist .. and we have to contend with Chase...
Desmond Haynes strikes again
