There’s no point in crying over spilt milk. The exercise now is to analyse and evaluate the reason for the cricketers of the West Indies’ poor performances and to rescue West Indians from further disgrace.

The administration, which includes the coaches and the captain, is as much at a loss as the fed-up fan who is quite angry at the bad cricket being played by a group of small islands that conquered the world with their rise to the top, playing scintillating cricket and becoming very popular wherever the game is played.

The question now remains, why was the milk spilt?

There are many explanations, factors and excuses but it boils down to one reason and one alone, and that is a lack of practice, driven by indiscipline from all concerned.

One could have noticed the wobbling of the virtues that make a team successful. Those in charge never detected the small cracks appearing in its body. They did not know enough cricket to understand.

Success is based on being better than one’s opponent.

Cricket has left the West Indies behind. The days of just flashing your bat and hitting big sixes are over. Modern cricket requires brain work and discipline. The administrators and players of the West Indies lack the capacity to strategize and study the game and opponents. Without these abilities, we have nowhere going. So, in my opinion, high level cricket is over in the West Indies.

Very poor article that’s very long and boring with no real solution. Unless we understand that cricket is no longer a popular sport in the Caribbean like in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and maybe even 90’s, when cricket was played all over from in the roads, on the beach and the playgrounds. These days very little club cricket and you can drive through villages and towns on a weekend and you won’t see cricket games. We must do something about bringing cricket back and one way of doing that is spend more money employing the likes of Lara, Richards, Ambrose, Chanderpaul and others, and have them travel to every island / schools to help coach and even have rap sessions with our you people. I think that would be a much better investment than what we spending on coaches and administrators

The fact that you can see every other cricket team in action on Willow TV on any given day, but not the West Indies, tells you that they are not even worth it. Instead, they have chosen to hide themselves from the rest of the world on a station that is not really a cricket station. I don't blame them though. They are an embarrassment to the West Indian people.
