He needs to be in the mix.The bowling Coach needs to help him with his action to reduce his over-reliance on brute strength to keep up his pace by smoothing out his run up and his delivery stride to get more rhythm and hence more pace.He also needs to improve his line and length and to be calmer when things are not going his way.
He also needs to improve his flexibility and I think he is too "muscle bound".

I find lots Similarities between the two... Klusener...a clean hitter....used in different positions by Wolmer specially as late order hitter...at 7 or 8..... turning the match on head... specially in 1999 World Cup.....Odean has played 9 matches....his ability to hit is exceptional....played really good cameos against India, Ireland..
Bowling wise.... Klusener was used for 6-8 overs... initially he was very quick...140-145 km ...Odean can take up that speed...
Klusener was basically made what he was by Wolmer... Klusener was moulded....Odean need to be moulded..
Sobers or Kallis are born...once in life time...never moulded or trained...
