I was told the empty stadium for the recent test match was because people doh like test cricket and even ODI is not a big pull anymore, but T-20 will see sell out stadium.
So it was disappointed to see the half full stadium today in South Trinidad.
Sad and CWI should be ashamed for not marketing this series.
Where are the people though?

A t20 played high day for the Indian TV market what u expect.

PNM giving out money??? Most people got to work at 10am in the morning on a Thursday!!!
Not to mention WI suck ain't nobody want to watch them play, a half full stadium is definitely above expectations!!!
In reply to Emir
If it was a day nighter, there might have been more ppl. They put it at 10 to accommodate the Indian audience. Dont blame them either. Thats where the money is. Also, the WI performances of recent past have really made fans depressed

Understood.
At some point we need to ask, even if it was 10. a.m. start, a poorly preforming WI and whatever else, the inability to get 15000 for a T-20 against one of the best sides in the world, is grave cause for concern for cricket and for our good culture.
People routinely take off work for any number of reasons in Trinidad, many other cricket fans in their 50's plus age group are retired and school is closed, so despite it not being a night game, there are no good reasons.
would have been good to see some more school age spectators. We will see if Guyana comes out to support WI and show why more international matches need to be played there.
This series is not for local fans participation. It is geared for the Indian TV audience. How can a T20 be played at 10.30 am on a work day in this heat? T20 is party cricket with music, dancing and drinking. Day/night and the stands will be full. As was stated by a cricket writer many moons ago. He went to the Antigua Recreation Grounds for a party and a cricket match broke out. The cricket is the backdrop for the party.
That being said I believe the stands will be full in Guyana.

Not at 1030am, even on Sunday.

Yes. But that was then. In Guyana if Kanhai was at the crease at the end of play or was scheduled to bat the next day, the fans from Berbice slept outside Bourda.
Those days are long gone in the West Indies. These days for anything other than T20, the live audience is 3 old men and 2 stray dogs.
For T20 it is young people out to party.

Day/night and the stands will be full.
Agreed
I like your comment on people sleeping outside Bourda. Those were the good old days. Brings back memories of getting to Test match and ODI before sunrise to get a seat else you sitting on the ground

Once, I could not get in the school's boys stand, and my best experience was in the grounds, those fellows know their cricket.

Why is your head so hard? You won't get it!!!
In reply to Emir
Since your head is soft, then you have different answers that only you know.
