FORT LAUDERDALE, United States (CMC) — Head Coach Darren Sammy said West Indies are still lacking a genuine strike bowler, even in the wake of their triumph in the five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against India.

West Indies dominated the Asian powerhouses to win the final T20I at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium by eight wickets on Sunday and thus completed a 3-2 series win — their first over their rivals in seven years.

And while praising the strides made by the unit, Sammy said there are still improvements to be made in order to further enhance the quality of performances.

"I think we have the batting if we put our egos aside and play the situation, and have the best man in that situation representing the team as a batting group; I think we're ok," Sammy said.

"I still feel, for us, we're still searching for that wicket-taking bowler. We have Alzarri [Joseph], we have Akeal [Hosein] who gives us that control like we saw [on Sunday] in the power-play.

14 wickets in 7 odis

most recently 6 wickets in 3 ODIs vs India

if any of that looks like wicket-taking...

For more than a century men could pick two pacers, 2 medium-pacers, two right arm offies in the same test team
Now all of sudden CWI selectors don't think in a 120 an innings match can have to SLA bowlers on the same team.

Cyan think outa the box, mussee iron box dat

Whatever happened to Sheldon Cotterell? Especially in T20’s where he would routinely take early wickets. Excellent in the outfield as well.

He just seems to have dropped off a cliff

Chase, if fact has very good T -20 record as all rounder ...he was top player inCPL few years back...but we need a mystery or wicket taking spinner...
Can you pinpoint any in present lot? A different spinner?

This is no loony, I am quite serious. To have a strike bowler we need to create one.

By this I mean we in to invest some youngsters, may wrist spinners and make them into wickets takers. Otherwise we'd have to wait some decades before one pops up.
