Probably the worst over in CPL - Nyam Young
Is not young's fault...he is inexperienced, still learning
In reply to googley
3-0-21-2
It his his fault....any cappo would have bolwed him based on his previous 3 overs
In reply to googley
He was too busy arguing with Drakes.
Plus the bad wide call off the first ball threw him off.
The ball was not wide,
as it is where it passes the popping crease.
the ball was inside the line as it passed the popping crease and batsman.
The swing took it just outside the line after.
It actually hit the pitch just outside the line after the stumps.
den again, all these umpires poor.

Any cappo would have gone to the experienced Jason.
Remember the super over against Holland.
Don't let Bishop dribble phase you.
Any other cappo would have died with experience over a untested newbie
He lacked experience....cappo gambled on him for the last over but it didn't pay off. Learning experience
In reply to TanteMerle
This was not a pressure over defending a total to win....it was a regular last over.
If it was a real pressure over defending a total to win the match ...then experience may have trumped
This is not even in the category of a super over

a pack of excuses
Call it as it is ....a terrible over....not only for the runs scored but two dangerous beamers !!!!
And having to be removed from the attack
In reply to TanteMerle
FULL stop.
and it is his fault.
HOPEFULLY
he has learnt something tonight.
I am pretty sure thats the worst over in CPL history
In reply to Narper
No excuses.
Very poor captaincee.
Now dat is calling it like it is.
Bish still doubling down on the decision to bowl Young for the last over. He claims it will make Young a better bowler.
In reply to googley
Bishop has no shame.
I love him. but at times he commentates
like a real Trickidadian, Ah mean Trinidadian.

For the short sighted or insular...it's poor captaincy.
For those who understand captaincy in the context of this stage of the tournament, know tournaments are seldom won by individuals but by teams that have depth, and where 7,8 players contribute.
The skipper gave Young the ball to build his confidence, and give him the experience, both things that will make the team better at the end of the day, I believe Powell as a leader understood this.
Later in the tournament, Holder may have an off day or be injured, same for McCoy, the captain needs to know what Young will be able to do if he calls on him..or give him the experience so when he does call on him, he's done it before.
Let's not forget...the skipper then won the game with the bat, this may actually have been captaincy at its finest, because he also ensured that the over did not cause his team the match, making it easier for Young to put it behind him and move on

You are just making (h)excuses.
The decision was poor. I said it before he bowled the first ball.
What if Powell have gotten out early.
I am glad that he won the game and batted well.
That decision sucked.
To sacrifice those runs was asinine.
To bowl Fatwall for only 2 overs was asinine.
I believe that Powell is a good captain,
But he screwed up last night whilst fielding.
You know what I think would have been better.
To leave Young at 3 overs, would have boosted his confidence.
Imaging scoring 48 in first game and bowling 3 good overs.
Now its is spoiled by a bad last overs last night.
Thankfully, he batted to a win.
I respect your opinion, but I will stick to mine bro.

It was by far

Bad decision in the context of the battle, excellent one based on the war
Respect ...we will agree to disagree on this
