Just an observation
Now we known where the patriotism lies

In a democratic system, individuals are afforded the opportunity to exercise their rights and make decisions.
Are you suggesting that individuals should be deprived of the opportunity to make choices and instead be compelled to adhere to a predetermined system?
If every individual possessed identical preferences, existence would lack excitement and stimulation.
Who want to support losers after almost 3 decades?

If you want to get a better idea you should arrange a match between Trinidad and India
In reply to bird
WE already did that inthe Champion series...
In reply to bird

Indians love Indian cricket
Indians live up north to feel important
There are many Indians in Trinidad studying and working
Rayudu not playing
No Indians went
When the highly successful players represent TNT at home, tickets are sold out. No need to provide tickets at a discounted rate to schools and academies. As expected the simplistic basics of supply and demand economics are beyond the comprehension of morons.

I have been saying this for a couple years now: The last WI series, we couldn't get more than 500 people to turn up- they said then it is Test cricket, wait for the ODI's, when the ODI's came and still no crowds, they said its only ODI, wait for the T20 series, when the T-20 came, sure they had a few more people, but nothing as compared to what we are seeing for the CPL- and to be certain, in every territory thus far.
It is a shame the WICBC cannot use the same marketing strategies to build the fan base, why is it the foreign own CPL is able to get people to go nationalistic over a franchise-foreign owned team and demonstrate so much love as if the team was their own.
I am saddened every time I see the stadiums empty when WI are playing.
This is a symptom of the failure of our societies and while we may enjoy 3 hours of the cricket, it has deadly consequences. When the kids in Barbados are fed foreign sugar laden donuts as a superior treat to their own native pastries, when kids in Trinidad proudly adopt KFC as their own, we are collectively in deep dodo.

I have no problem with peeps supporting whoever they want to support.
That said just be honest about it. My England born relatives wear West Indies colours proudly when we play England.
In reply to sgtdjones
On that we agree. Just dont lie about it.

Hey Chrissy....if what you are suggesting is true,
1) why do you think it is so?
2) is that wrong?

Agreed excellent point..... it is time for each island to go alone

Chrissy saying they not being truthful...
People, in a multicultural society can have dual loyalties because heritage and identity are critical - The queen should know that academically. She may have been seduced by the homogenization philosophy of Jamaica. In Trinidad, Indian Trinidadians are VERY patriotic.
The passion from players towards league cricket is not the same compared to West Indies cricket
forget fruitprickers- you have the consider the target of the identity-Is the West Indies a real entity? Did Bustamante think do? He coined the term a federation of paupers . . . was HE disloyal? Stay with me fruitpricker, I shall teach you

How do you explain all those TKR fans now wearing GAW shirts and supporting GAW?!
i like the observation about the crowds. We have regional Super 50 coming up soon. If the big name Caribbean players are available and playing, will we get the same crowds as in CPL? Or is it that the crowds just turn out because of the advertising of the "biggest party in sport"? If so, then CWI needs to change the marketing strategy drastically but the first step must always be to see if our marquee players are available to play for their territories.
In reply to PalsofMine
With marquee players and weekend games, TNT home games will be close to capacity. Weekday games difficult for working people to attend.
need to find a way to market matchups...create some bachannal between the teams
In reply to ray
good luck with that. CWI doan have money to buy a pepsi, you think they will fund marketing!
